Click sound when shifting gear and parking

There is click sound when pressing brake while parking and shifting from reverse to forward gear. Have it check with the dealer, they said the anti-skip and brake acculator warning light is on. could be something wrong with those parts. But the car drive ok without any other abnormality. Is it a major problem?

I don't see any warning lights. It only shows on the computer diagnosis. It is ok if I don't fix it. Will it lead to any bigger problem or danger?

Other than the annoying noise there is no real concern, all of the braking above about 10mph is done by the dynamic braking system and not the hycraulic system

The clicking noise could be related to the bigger problem with the abs/vsc actuator, this is a kind of common problem on the prius models, the actuator should be replaced, this is a very expensive part (around $2000) for the part only, while the warning light is on the traction control and abs are disabled, it will still brake normally.

1994 Buick LeSabre has clicking noise in steering column when reversing.

Could it be coming from the dash??? That car might be old enough to have a speedo cable. Another thought, I know some Caddys that had an automatic park brake release. You had to put it in gear for the Park brake to release. Hope that helps.

How do i trouble shoot automatic transmission that shifts from park to reverse with the gear shift but the car will not move?

Sounds like the shift cable is off the transmission under the hood. Raise the hood and check to see if the cable is moving the linkage going into the transmission when the shift lever is moved in the car. Be sure to have park brake on.

Why is my parking brake clicking when i press the brakes?

This is the shift interlock cable dis-engaging. It is the cable that makes it where you can not shift out of park unless the brake is depressed.

Check your brake lights, if the system doesn't get a brake lights on signal it will not release park, it is called the park lock system.

Shift handle will nont come out of park. I took ahndle consul apart and pushed a yellow plastic part forward (under the shifter) and it came out of gear. what do I do next and what is tyhis called

hi
first thing to do is to check that your rear brake lights are working properly.
that yellow plastic part sounds like the safety system that prevents you from shifting out of park or neutral unless the brakes are pressed. it is an electrical solenoid triggered from the brake light switch, so if this fails, or the fuse blows, you cannot get out of park or reverse

Volvo 2006 S60 refuses to move in reverse direction

your problem lies in the internal parts of your transmission which are the clutch linings, they are already worn out and starts to slide.

My gear shift is stuck and will not move from park to reverse. I had backed out the car and turned it off. when I went to move the car, my gear shift will not move out of the park position.

do the brake lights work? the system has a lock out that keeps you from moving out of park unless the brake circuit is activated, hence no brake lights no park lock out release, if the brk lights do work u most have a stuck or defective park lock out solenoid.
