2003 hyundai elentra overheating and already did alot of standard procedures to fix the problem and still overheats. Car vurrently has 64k on it. Here is the history. Last year it overheated and changed the thermostat, radiator and fans. Work fine and now this year again. The radiator had a very muddy cap. As if mud was in the radiator. We flushed the radiator checked all hoses for leaks filled with new coolant. Ran okay for about 30 miles and problem started again. Changed water pump, timing belt while at it,as well as the radiator cap. Another 40 miles and again the car is overheating. Did a pressure test and it was fine. Also did a compression test for each cylinder, and that came fine. Even checked spark plugs wires and changed the spark pkugs as well. However the coolant keeps disappearing somewhere but no leaks to be found anywhere. Think maybe its the head gasket but there is no white smoke out the exhaust or any other indications that it really is a head gasket since we did all these test. Some please advise what the hell else this mystery of a car needs to get fixed.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe you put in the wrong kind of coolant? Not every type of coolant works in every car. Other than that, try head gasket sealer because if your head gasket is leaking, it can't be a big leak, otherwise you'd have problems right away.

Called dealer and asked which coolant is best and used their recommendation. Was thinking of trying the head gasket sealer. Will let you know what happens. Thank you

My new car 2010 Hyundai Elentra is burning oil. Is that normal?

If a car burns 1 quart per thousand miles that is considered normal, after break in.

Did you follow the normal break in procedure for the engine, and change the oil and filter?

My 2008 elentra has had a tire sensor changed, but

I'm sure the owner's guide has the necessary info and there is a 'recalibration' procedure that needs to be followed. If you don't have the guide anymore, it is likely available from the Hyundai support website.

Two seperate problems. I would say you have a bad wheel sensor. A trip to a local big chain parts store will tell you. They will run a diagnostic and pull the code for free. Hope this helps...

I have a 1999 hyundai elentra and it overheats all the time. im wondering how i can fix this problem? i have no other problems just the engine overheating during the summer. i just spent $1500 on it and i...

Well could be a couple of things. It could be the thermostat "sticking". Or it could be like a couple of vehicles that I've had where a small radiator leak has caused it to overheat. I would try flushing the radiator and see how that does. What I would recommend though is Prestone Super Flush be used to flush all the **** out. And when you refill the radiator use a tube of radiator stop leak (the powder type). You can use the pellets, but the powder seems to work a little better. What I've always done is to put the Prestone flush in the radiator and let it circulate through the system with the heat on the highest setting. After maybe 10 minutes remove the lower radiator hose making sure that you have on long sleeves and are using long rubber gloves so as not to scald yourself, because it will be scalding hot. Once all of it is drained out, I just used a hose and let the water run through there and circulate and come out at the disconnected radiator hose, maybe another 2 minutes. After that, put the radiator hose back on. Add the powder stop leak product and add radiator fluid until full. If this does not stop the overheating then you may need to replace the thermastat but I would start here first. It has worked with me on (3) different vehicles.
