The flywheel holder is to keep the crankshaft from turning while you remove the crankshaft pulley
bolt(s).
There are alternatives to stabilizing the crank -- I sometimes just put a piece of 1x2 lumber under the belt going around the crank pulley.
An air (impact) wrench is a good way to remove the bolts without having to hold the crank.
You can also put a squeeze clamp across the belt to keep it tight while you loosen the bolt.
There are many ways which I'm sure others on this post will describe.
But, once you get the crank pulley off, remove the balancer bolt(s). (Don't know exactly what bolt configuration you have -- but you already know that.)
You'll see the puller bolt holes in the balancer. This is where the puller bolts go. Put the bolts thru the appropriate slots in the puller and then into the balancer and tighten the base of the puller. Then you tighten the main bolt of the puller which pushes agains the center of the crank and forces the balancer off.
If you need more info, please let me know.

There is a tool made for that specific job. Many of the larger parts stores will loan or rent you one. It is called a harmonic balancer puller. (fancy name huh?) They aren't too expensive to buy but unless you do a lot of engine work it's likely not something you will use often.
