We recently had some problems with our 04 Spectra. The car overheated while my son was driving and blew the plastic top of the radiator. I replaced the radiator but the car continued to overheat. I replaced the thermostat but the car started to overheat and the check engine light came on. Took it to a mechanic who told me the crankshaft sensor was bad. Changed the crankshaft sensor. Check engine light still on. Took it to autozone, actually the camshaft sensor was the code, changed the camshaft sensor. Car still overheating but no check engine light anymore. Put in dye and found out the thermostat housing was broken and leaking. Replaced thermostat housing and rechecked, not leaking there but still losing water somewhere. Water coming out overflow, confirmed by dye. Also items in the glovebox are VERY warm. Still losing water but can't tell where, no noticeable water in oil, so doesn't appear to be head gaskets. HELP

YOU COULD HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET, MOST REPAIR SHOPS CAN DO A BLOCK TEST WHICH WILL TELL YOU IF HEAD GASKET IS BAD, ALSO CHECK TAIL PIPE FOR WHITE COLOR SMOKE.

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you got your car running 100% again soon and please rate.
SOURCE: KIA IS STILL OVERHEATING,
The thermostat is the engine temp controller. All the sensors do is relay information.
Are you sure your over heating. Has anyone infrared temp tested the actual temperature.
If you are really overheating a temp gun can test differnnt areas to try to find a blockage somewhere.
You could have a clogged radiator if you used a sealer in the coolant pryor to doing the head gasket.
