Chugging at lights, slipping while pressing the gas etc....

Ok so when i am at a light....my idle will go down pretty low and start chugging and the whole care seems to shake...eventually the check engine light will come on. if i give it a little gas or put it in nutural then drive again it will be fine. The timing belt was changed about a year ish ago and the heads on the engine were warped or something so they replaced those (thank god it was under warrenty!) that fixed it for a little bit...and then it started doing the same thing AGAIN!!! so i went to auto zone and it said timing belt or cam shaft position sensor so since the timing belt was changed pretty recently we changed the cam shaft sensor... well on the freeway after sitting in traffic it fel like the car was skipping or losing power or something was slipping in it when i pressed on the gas. so i pulled over and turned off the car, turned it back on and it was fine!!! OMG i'm stuck!! now the engine light wont come back on so i can't get it checked. currently it's running really rough...but still running...i can kind of feel it slipping. ALSO the underbody is making a clunking sound...like struts or something moving around...i have no idea! please help! :)

actually it was the cam shaft sensor again!!!! they said it was a bad part! i guess when you make 100,000,000 parts a day there is bound to be a problem....i kinda have a feeling it will happen again though....but for now...its running better!

Hi my nissan maxima 1997 is having some problems like idle is very low when the engine is warm! then while driving it was ok but when you stop at the intersection or traffic lights the "IDLE drops...

Sounds like your idle air control valve, after time they get dirty and cause low and/or rough idle. They also cause vehicle to just die when idling or taking off from a stop sign. Unforntunately they cannot just be cleaned, as this ruins the finish inside of the unit. Check your local parts store, they can be pretty expensive units to purchase; however, they are usually fairly simple to install, good luck! :)

Battery light stays on until I press the gas

Known issue to occur occasionally on VW/Audi. What is occurring is that the alternator is not spinning out fast enough to start charging, so the light is on. Once you rev the engine, the alternator starts to charge and remains charging till its shut off and restarted. It can be related to too low of an idle (not adjustable, unless you have a dirty throttle plate or air leak), the alternator itself (aftermarket or a bad rebuild) or an incorrect alternator pulley installed (too large).

Chugs, acts like it's not getting gas once warmed up. Idle's fine

This problem can be several things. When your engine is cold, your computer is in a "closed loop" and just pretty much keeps the engine running until warmed up. After reaching operation temperature, the computer starts reading all the sensors. If one sensor is not connected or is defective, you will experience performance problems. Most of the time this will turn on the check engine light, but not always. Second is the fuel pump. This too will cause erratic engine problems.
