Cruise control won't engage

cruise controls are governed by 5 settings and sensors
one is engine rpms
vehicle road speed ,( manual transmission will not activate under 20 klms /hr
brake pedal switch
clutch pedal switch ( VSS if auto)
off/on switch control
any one of these not lined up will not allow the cruise control to work

2001 impreza Abs light on and cruise control not working

From what I have read the flashing cruse light is to get you to fix the problem. Any cel will throw the cruse light and cruse will not work. Get your abs checked out and cruse will work again when fixed.

Why does my Cruise Control light flash when engaging?

Its the brake system.
The flashing light tells you something is wrong with the cruise components. Could be the brake light switch, or the ABS if equipped.

The cruise control on my 2001 just quit working i have checked the fuses and all are ok while driving i can engage the criuse control and the cruise light comes on for an instant almost like a flash any...

A vehicle speed sensor provides a signal for the cruise control and also for the ABS braking and the overdrive function. I would start with finding the fuse for the cruise control in your owners manual. Also some cruise controls have vacuum lines attached, if so, check for cracked or broken vacuum lines. Good luck.

2004 Hyundai Elantra.......Cruise control will not engage

make sure the cruise control cable to the throttle isn't too loose, if it is ok, check your brake switch. if it is sending the signal the brake is on it will not allow cruise to work and will do same thing as described about the set light.

Cruise control won't engage

most likely the clock spring is not the problem because when u push the button the dash light cruise comes on.wich means that you do not have an open circuit.with a light tester check to see if you are getting power to the cruise control servo.if you are then replace it.if no power you will need a new cruise control stick on the steering column.

Cruise control fails to engage on '03 ford sport trac

Th is is how I fixed mine! Down on the brake pedal there is a small plastic box about 1 1\2 * 1 1\2 in size. It's called the brake stop light, I think. This part disengages the cruise when the brake is pressed. Not sure on it's other uses! Remove the clip from the part where it attatches the the pedal. For more working room you can remove the plastic keeper. The box has three keepers on it. Pry them out gently to remove the top. Two of the copper pieces inside will have contacts on them about the size of a match stick head. Take them out and clean them with an eraser. This solved my problem, I hope it solves yours.
