Try Holding the Handle while you close it so as to disengage the door lock! Good Luck!

Open the door pannel check the window regulator by pushing the up and down button. If no noise herd replace the motor but before replacing make sure the window is set in the window track properly

panel just to get to it?

A ford dealer will carry the proper fasteners for this concern. They are small plastic fasteners and are relatively inexpensive. Take one with you if you have it.

The OBD Diagnostic Link Connector is located in front seating area, passenger side, under dash, above kick panel, mounted rear of glove compartment.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Pull back the weather seal and you can readjust the window mechanics

You have to remove the two screws that hold the armrest to the door inorder to get to the speaker. You also hve to remove the screws that hold the rest of the door panel inorder to take it off...

sounds like a plastic Sir clip of course you say external handel detached from door consider linkage clip has fallen down!
