Recently I noticed that my horn was not working and then went to change fuses and realized my cig lighter was also not working and that that fuse had been blown. I tried to replace the 20A fuse but it just sparked and instantly blew. Any suggestions
Disconnect the negative terminal on your battery first.
Testimonial: "So wait. I should disconnect the negative and then replace the fuse and then reconnect the negative? Do you think that will also fix the horn?"
SOURCE: no fuse manual
according to my manual:98merc gm: the horn fuse is in the distrabution box under the hood on the left side. The cigar lighter is under the panel drivers side. fuse No. 16 upper left corner of the fuse box
SOURCE: cig lighter fuse blew. renewed but cig lighter and remote key not
you probably didnt change the right fuse and had another one blown at the same time you also could have a primary fuse under the hood that blew. once fixed dont use pump again. not same amps drawn
SOURCE: Horn, cig. lighters, and key remote won't work. Fuses good. Any idea what's wrong?
Ifg you`re a do it yourselfer, that sound electrical, it might be a relay issue, go fiverr and punch in wiring diagrams
