Just bought this car. For the first two weeks, ran perfect. Even took it on a 250-mile trip to beach! I hadn't tried to start it in about 7 days because of rainy weather (also gas tank was low), and when I did, it sounds like it wants to start but won't. I finally got it to start yesterday, then it died immediately. Any ideas

Have you checked that you have power to the coil on cranking? You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.It could be an ignition module breaking down.If you have no power to the coil you may need to change the ignition relay. Its close to the battery.

first is it getting fuel ? try shooting a little gasoline or starting fluid into the air cleaner and see if it will run ? if so it is needing a fuel filter or a fuel pump replaced... thanks and holler if you need more Jerry

When your replaced the pump did you replace the fuel filter? You may have a fuel pump relay causing you some grief. I believe it is located in the engine compartment in the fuse center on the left inner fender. Check the relay and any related fuses. Check the electrical connection at the pump. They had problems with some of them and they would get kind of hot and distort and corrode. They have new updated ones that can be easily installed.
