We just bought a 02 chevy silverado 3500 with a 6.6 diesel engine. On our way home the truck died. We narrowed it down to the fuel pump but can not find a book for the truck. Any clue where we can get one?

    We have looked everywhere and you can not find a book for the diesel engine. Everyone can get it for the gas one. I even tried the dealer and they do not have it.

I had an 03' with a wire harness that grounded out the computer not once but twice. The harness was fixed and a new computer went in.

How do you know it's the fuel pump? A dirty fuel filter will stop a diesel in it's tracks.

You can probably pick up a Haynes book at like Auto Zone that might be helpful

    Look on Ebay under manuals and literature,trucks

    I did see someone on there advertising a CD that is suppose to be better than Haynes or Chilton. I didn't say about the 6.6 but if you can find it you might ask seller a question to confirm. If you can't find it email me and I will send you the link. [email protected]

    I did save it on watch list. Trying to help out a chevy guy. I have an 02 -1500

I put gas in my 2005 3500 diesel truck (chevy) and a mile down the road the truck just shut off. So i pumped out all of the gas, then put treatment and diesel back into the truck. Tried to start the truck...
Did you change the fuel filter or bleed the injector lines? You need to get that gas out of the system if you haven't already. Once the filter is changed and filled with diesel I would loosen the injector lines and crank the engine until the gas is cleared out of the lines. Tighten the lines and see what happens.

WHERE IS THE FUEL PRIMER ON MY 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO 3500 6.6 LITER DIESEL
The primer should be on top of the fuel filter housing assembly..there is a small relief valve you will need to open and at the top of the fuel filter housing there will be a somewhat large domed button that you will need to push down until fuel comes out the relief...put the relief valve screw back in and your done

I own a 2003 chevy silverado diesel dullay 4x4 and none of the controls work for the passenger side window, I need a wiring diagram.
Hi I have a 4x4 2003 chevy 3500 silverado dually with dual tanks
rear tank stoped pumping into front tank and was full . I siphoned the fuel out of rear tank and fuel gauge reads 9/16 full . is there a way to reset the fuel sending units so they can calculate the fuel readings. I always filled the two tanks with the same amount of fuel
until now ? I'm thinking there is a inkine fuel pump

2000 chevy silverado 1500 4.3 eng
Chevy Trucks, Blazers, S10 pickup and the like will vapor lock ecspecially the 2000 models. Do not tighten the gas cap past 1 click. There is a tube that runs from the top of the tank down and this gets hot and collapses or burns in half. We just bought a reinforced rubber tube cut it to lengh and use it instead of part and it's worked grat for 2 years so far.

Engine dies
I had the same problem with my 94 chevy 6.5 diesel,and spent alot of money trying things that people told me to try.I wound up taking it to the dealer and they told me it was the injection pump.They put one in it and that fixed it.It has run great for over a year and a half.This set me back about $4000.00!
