I just put new ac clutch in2006 Taurus and is working great but car running sluggish almost stop running when at a light or stop sign why

The original a/c clutch was probably burned up by the compressor locking up. Possible bad compressor.

Help 2008 ford fusion heater and ac stopped working

1) TEST the fuse+ relar of a/c
see the next steps and fix it. God bless you
If so, the compressor is working and the A/C system probably contains enough refrigerant to make cold air, so the problem is inside the HVAC unit. Replace the motor that controls the blend air door (this is a difficult job and best left to a professional since it involves tearing apart the HVAC unit -- about an 8 to 10 hour job!).
If the compressor does not engage when you turn on the A/C, see if it will run by jumping the compressor clutch wire directly to the battery (use a fused jumper wire). If the compressor works when you jump it, and the A/C blows cold air, the system contains refrigerant and the fault is likely a bad A/C compressor clutch relay or a bad clutch cycling switch or pressure switch.
If the compressor does not engage when you jump it, the problem is a bad compressor clutch.
If the clutch engages but the compressor does not turn (the belt will start to slip and squeal), the compressor is locked up and you need a new compressor.
If the compressor clutch engages and turns the compressor, but the A/C still does not blow cold air, the system is probably low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged

05 bmw 320i ac compressor no working

Check the refrigerant pressure. There is a low pressure switch that will prevent the compressor from running. If the pressure is OK, check to see if the clutch engages. If it appears to engage the clutch might be worn or worse. was the compressor noisy before it stopped working. If so then the clutch bearing might be shot. but in that case the compressor would still run but be noisy when not on. If noisy when on, then it is toast.

A/C has stopped and have been told that a/c compressor clutch is not working. Can I replace just the clutch or does the entire assembly need replaced?

It is a rather pain in the **** to repair and replace a faulty compressor clutch. I'd get the price for both at a service center that specializes in a/c repairs and also make sure if it is rebuilt what kind of guarantee or warranty is offered as well

A/c clutch not working. Is the clutch replaceable

Your clutch will not work if the 'fluid' level is low. This is designed to protect the compressor.
Was your air cold before it stopped?
You can buy a pressure gauge and new coolant at most stores for around $20. Make sure it's the right coolant.
The clutch CAN be changed without replacing the compressor.

I have a 01 focus and at the ac compressor pulley it rattles, ac doesn't have to be on for it to do this. Ac was still working fine until yesterday stopped blowing cold air. Any idea on what would have...

well if the a/c has quit working .....the compressor probly finally failed....most times when the clutch hub begins to rattle or becomes real loose it has already worn the compressors snout....that cannot be fixed ...you need a new compressor .......

Volvo v70 air con fault

This is probably a clutch problem on the compressor, either buy a new clutch or get a second hand compressor and swap the clutch over.
