Audio display says check cd

Displays check cd even when there is no cd in the player, the motor that pulls the cd in and out of the unit keeps running, when you put a cd in it won't even switch over to read it, it just ejects it back out. Manual says that the check cd msg means either rough roads or that there is humididty in the unit.. neither could be true at this point, weather not permitting humidity and car is parked. this has been a constant problem for 3 days now. 2000 monte carlo ss audio receiver is the combo cassett single disc player

This may be a bit late to help, but I just had the same problem yesterday. Same car (2000 Monte Carlo SS), but mine is just the CD/radio stereo (no cassette). I was able to solve it by pulling the fuse for the radio (it's in the right-side panel) and letting it sit for a minute. After putting it back in, the CD player made the disc ejecting sound one time (no "check CD" message) and stayed off. And now it seems to be working fine. We'll see how long it lasts, though.

Have reactivated my grundig aura 6 disc stereo with correct code. Now can hear cd player going through check sequence but won't play cds. No cd information on radio display

You have power to the CD player, since it's cycling CDs. Your Base unit is working, since it's not seeing the CD Information. The most likely culprit is that the cable in between is either damaged or not-seated properly at one end. I don't know the specifics on your system, but Grundig Aura listings on eBay show a separate changer unit, with a specialty cable in between (same setup I had on my old Saab). The cable even looks identical, no doubt some audio industry plug standard. Anyhow, go re-seat the cable on both ends - you will likely need some DIN wires to pull the dash unit, or access in from under the dashboard, depending on your car. If that fails, you may have to consider replacing the cable. There are likely pin-outs for the cable, so you can test continuity on the pins with a volt meter if you want to be sure on the cable before the likely PITA task of routing the cable through a bunch of crevices in the car body.

Good luck!

How does the display on my CD/radio work?

Sorry to hear the display is blank even though the cd radio appears to function. The display is usually an LCD with back panel lights that makes the characters visible. Most likely the small rice globes behind the panel are blown. Usually needs some sort of desoldering and resoldering to replace. If you can take the player out from the dashboard and take it to the local audio repair shop you will save quite a bit of money to get this fixed.

I am assuming your CD radio looks something like this.

My stereo is locked

Fist check inside the glove box wall, there might be a white sticker with the code on it.
if not try this, turn key on and audio uint off. hold 1 and 6 on audio unit and while hold 1 and 6 turn the audio unit on. Sometime audio unit will display SN# for you on screen.First half of SN# will be display first and second half next.
You can call your honda dealer and give them that SN# and they can give you the code for your audio unit.
If unit doesn't display SN#, then you have to pull unit out and look on it fo SN#.

good luck

Led lights do not work on radio/cd player. no station/time displ

Work in car audio for a living. dodge caravan's are notorious for having there cd player's **** out. if the led display is out the built in reducers for the display power supply are more then likely shot. head to a junk yard and pull one out if you want to keep it stock :)
can prob get it from them for about 20 buck's and it will plug right in were the old one did. or you can go after market head unit (125-900$ at any electronic's store) buy a harness (about 18$) and a mounting kit (25$) for the easyist install :)
hope this helped

Err code displays when i put a cd into my radio.

the cd player only is the problem even though it is all in one unit the radio will still play. tr a different disk if no luck then unfortunatley the problem is in the radio itself. you can buy a nice after market radio for alot less money. keep me posted thanks
