The filter is located in the washer bottle itself. Remove the pump(pull out) from the water bottle and the filter is the black seal the pumps fits into. Pull this out and rinse.

Windscreen washer filters and lines on BMW cars frequently get blocked by algal growth that occurs due to the bottle's placement inside the fender. The system is hard to access and clean. Your dealer will charge for several hours' work. It probably needs to be done once, but prevent its recurrence by simply dropping a copper coin into the washer bottle. Copper is a very effective algicide and it should keep the system clear. Just put in a fresh coin every year or so. A cheap solution at 1 cent pre year!

Pop up your hood, locate a rectangle box about 8x12, undo theside clips, lift up top cover and filter is in there.

O1 318 saloon windows both get stuck at half way position
try resettinng the window. do this, by putting the ignition on and putting the window down and holding the button down for ten seconds when the window is fully down. then putt the window up and hold the button for ten seconds again.
repeat this with the engine running.
if this doesn't work reply, ill tell the other things you could try.

Removal and replament of a 3 Series BMW E46 1998 saloon wing mirr
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
