Oil pan removal for 1994 k1500 4WD

What needs to be removed to remove the oil pan, ie: front drive shaft, starter. Is there enough room to lift the engine by removing the engine mounts and jacking up from the tranny.

Hello;
SInce I do not know your reason to pull the pan, the best and easiest way to get the pan off is to pull the engine out and put it on a stand,(cleaner, easier to maneuver, easier to set the gaskets). I have done these in chassis before and it is not the easiest. First use a one piece oil pan gasket. It will save you from countless headaches. If you disconnect the motor mounts bolts, you need to raise the engine from the front, not the transmission. The balance is to far forward. You will need to remove the oil filter, starter, and convertor dust shield. You will also need to turn the engine over by hand to clear the crank throws. Tip the pan down in the back and slide it out. Good luck and let me know if you need more information.
Thanks and rate me high.
Thanks;
Rich

Will i have to remove motor to replace oil pan gasket on a 2001 gmc sonoma 2.2l 5 speed

You may have to loosen the transmission also to get enough room to remove it without taking the motor out. Make sure your pan is not cracked first. Also be careful when lifting the motor as to not damage anything on top of the engine.

  8. Install a Three Bar Engine Lifting Support D88L-6000-A or equivalent.
  9. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  10. Remove the front engine support insulator through bolt. On SC, also remove the LH front engine support/mount retaining strap bolt.
  11. Partially lower the vehicle. Raise the engine with the lifting support tool.
  12. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the starter motor assembly.
  13. Position a drain pan, drain the engine oil, and remove the oil filter.
  14. Remove the starter motor wire, ground strap and oil cooler inlet tube (automatic transmission only).

  10. Install oil filter.
  11. Partially lower the vehicle.
  12. Carefully lower the engine with the engine support, seating the LH side locating pin before the RH side. Install the engine mount through bolts, (on SC engines, install LH mount retaining strap bolt), and tighten to 34-44 ft. lbs. (45-61 Nm).
  13. Remove the engine support and lifting eyes, or equivalent. Carefully lower the vehicle.

Removal procedure of oil pan for a 1997 chevy

To remove the engine oil pan either the engine has to be lifted all the way off of the motor mounts and the oil pan should just clear the flex-plate and transmission, or the front axle dropped down out of the way, or the transmission and flex-plate will have to be removed.

Usually if the engine can be lifted enough to fit a piece of 2x4 wood between the motor mounts and the frame then the oil pan will usually just have enough clearance to be removed from the rear and the oil pan should just clear the transmission and the flex-plate. Also, be sure to check that the fan blade does not damage the fan shroud when lifting the engine.

Let me know if you require any further assistance.

I have a 1967 ford pickup that i just bought and it needs an oil pump. A friend said that i would have to take the whole motor out to get to the existing one. Is this true? What's the exact way?

First look under the motor, if there enough room from the oil pan and the cross subframe just removing oil will be fine, if there's not enough room you will have to undo the motor mount's and with an engine crane lift the engine so you will have enough room to remove the oil pan.There no need to remove engine out.

How do i change a oil pan geskrt in a 94 jeep wrangler/

On most, you need to remove all bolts around the perimeter of the pan, (You may want to remove starter to get to fasteners there) then slide a paint scraper between the pan and block to break the seal. Generally there is enough room to get the pan out. If you need a bit more room, support the transmission with a jack (use a piece of plywood on top to avoid bending anything) remove both engine mount through bolts and raise engine slightly (not too much or you will break something)
