Just had air conditioner re-worked. New compressor, expansion valve, dyer, Freon & oil, & new serpentine belt replaced. My air conditioner is still not cooling. What is the problem?
Was system evacuate by pumping it down using vacuum pump to remove all moisture out of the system.most time of the time when i work on AC system you have pump it down from 30 minutes to a hour.pump it until low pressure gauge read 30 hgs in the green area.i shut down vacuum pump close off manifold gauge valves see if low pressure side reading stay at 30 hgs or drop if gauge needle stop dropping have leak in the AC system.if all is good you have temperature air door problems.air door not opening all cool air to circulate through AC vents.
Take it to a garage and have them evacuate the system and refill with refrigerant. you have air and non condensibles in the refrigerant system.

If you tried using a refrigeration "sealing" product before changing out the compressor, you most likely do need to replace the expansion valve.
The valve "flutters" open/close/open/close/etc/etc when in operation. The purpose is to allow the compessor to build up enough pressure to change the freon to a gaseous state. Once you put in the sealer, the valve becomes plugged with the product and cannot seat completely. After this happens, you never get a full phase change because the pressure cannot build up enough. You will experience reduced cooling. Change the Exp. valve and you'll be set. In the future, it is not advisable to ever use the sealer products as this can cause damage to other system parts, and especially the recovery units at the shop.
SOURCE: serpentine belt replacement
Yes, when you go and get youre replacement belt, just make sure you get the belt for your engine that does NOT include the AC. It will not hurt anything by doing this. The only problem that may arise is when installing the new belt, make sure you install it the correct way.

try adding freon with a dye in it, sounds you have a leak, pay special attention to the a/c lines that run under the truck. notorious for having pin hole leaks, check these and get back to me we'll go from there. hope this helps get back to me Thanks Ray
