My ford fitted sat nav system has stopped working batterys in controller leaked fitted new batterys but still not work any suggestions please

Try cleaning, scraping the battery contacts and then put a little petroleum jelly on the contacts and reinstall batteries. If they leaked a bunch then you may have a copper trace or a wire corroded in two.

Can I fit sat nav unit with reversing camera from 2012 prius into 2010 prius (the 2010 one had no sat nav from factory just ordinary cd unit, but the dash is same and dimensions are same

The 2010 car would probably not have the necessary wiring to make the 2012 system work. It would probably physically fit the car, buy would still need the camera and the wiring to connect the two.

Hello, Can anyone please tell me how and where to connect the speed pulse sensor wire from my Pioneer X1BT navigation, to my Pajero Diesel 2.8 - 1996 speed sensor. Any help will be gratefully accepted.

The following is for a 1996 2.8 td Pajero.

On the drivers side by the steering column is the16pin Diagnostic plug which is located just above the accelarator pedal and can be very easily removed just by un-clipping it, this will help in giving you a bit of slack to have a look at the rear of the plug for a red/white wire connected to
pin 14 (VSS signal)
The easiest way to connect your navi's VSS wire is to use a flat 2mm autoelectrical connector pushed in from the front of the plug. I connected my VSS as described above over 3 years ago and have had no problems with it. Make sure you route the VSS wire from your Nav unit in a tidy fashion using cable ties if necessary.

6 CD Multichanger

Hello There.

My guess would be that your sat nav was retro fitted, i'e not factory fitted. Who ever fitted it didn't use the correct wiring harness. It seems they may have used a wiring harness which didn't have the connection for a CD changer.

If you want to get this fixed you will need to replace the wiring harness which means stripping out the entire interior of your car, i.e seats, carpet, door panel. or you can live with the single CD which works.

If my answer has solved your problem, please rate me on fixya.

Thank you

Can you put factory sat nav in an X5 when it does not already have it in

Hello There

Yes it is possible to install the factory sat nav in you X5, but apart from the head unit you will also need:

  1. new wiring loom
  2. dvd navigation unit installed at the back
  3. TMC radio unit again at the back
  4. bluetooth unit
All the interior needs to come out i.e seats, floor carpets, door trims.

If you feel brave enough then there are BMW forums which gives you very detailed information on how to to it, but don't expect to get it done in a day or even two, a week is probably realistic time. It took me 2 weeks to do my first 3 series.

Hope this helps. Please don't forget to rate me.

Many Thanks
