Re: Problem with my 1987 Nissan Pickup
TIMING OR BURNT VALVE! COULD ALSO BE WATER IN GAS , TRY A BOTTLE OF HEET SOLD AT AUTOZONE AND ADD TO YOUR NEXT FILL UP. ALSO RUN A TANK OF PREMIUM UNLEADED THROUGH IT FOR A GOOD OCTANE BOOST TO HELP WITH THE BURNING OF THE WATER FROM YOUR TANK. HOPE THIS HELPS!
Engine....4 Cyl,,,,,Only had the truck for 3 months...Only thing I have done was the oil change....It has 149,000 miles. The backfiring,,,,,Always occurs after leave a light....I speed up and it backfires...And jumps....Acts like it will stall or not getting gas.
Dear tribefanz: first I need to know which engine you have, there were several used in that truck. I need more details as to when the backfiring occurs? I need a little history on the maintenance, which would be helpful in formulating an opinion. BE HONEST about your maintenance report. If you have done little and you have a lot of miles, so be it. But if you don't give the right input you won't get the right output. mybunkey is your road to the truth and the guide to no more bang, but I NEED INPUT!
