Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer
Oil light comes on at idle, then as time goes by, light comes on at higher RPMS also...
Im thinking oil pump?
Not leaking oil
Could be the oil pump, but before you get to that, whens the last time you had you oil changed? is it the right type? was the filter changed to? if the oil is to thick for your engine, the pump could be having a problem pushing it. If its dirty, same thing applies. Next time you change your oil, be sure to use a full synthetic. its a superior oil all around.

I had the same exact problem over the weekend. We decided to go cheap first and replace the Oil Pressure Switch. It's like $6.00 at Auto Zone here in Texas. (don't know if you are from the states). It ended up being the switch. It's located right by the oil filter and it's very easy to change. Just make sure you have a wrench or deep socket bigger than 15/16. I think we used a 1 inch wrench.
If it's not the switch, its most likely the oil pump, but don't forget to check the hose, it could be bent or crimped.
Hope this helps :D
