Question about 1994 Dodge Caravan
Where is the sensor switch located if I'm standing in front of my Sliding door? To my left is the door clamps and to my right is the long bolt and a two half inch long plastic buttons that compress. I took those out and compressed them with screws thinking that would stop the the ding ding problem when hiting a bump.
The sliding door ajar switch has a tan/yellow and black wire going to the switch. Chrysler has issued a service bulletin for this problem and issue a bumper pad to prevent inadvertent door ajar warning. Try to find bulletin 08-21-94

I had the same problem. The issue is with the switch/sensor that is depressed when the door is closed. On mine, there was a white plastic "boot" on the end of the switch that had worn down/cracked. I went to the hardware store and bought a package of rubber tips (the kind that slip onto a chair leg, or end of a pipe, etc.) I pried off the cracked plastic piece and replaced it with the rubber boot. Viola, problem solved.
If your plastic boot is fine, or you don't want a do-it-yourself fix, the switch is easy to replace, and only costs about $5 at the auto parts store.
