Wont start after it died one night

Hello, my 1986 honda civic died one night and wouldnt re start. I changed the plugs cap and rotor but didnt think to remember the wire order. I have since tried every order I can think and no luck. All the plugs have spark, tested the fuel pump to carb and that works fine. I dont really know what else to try or why it wont start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, evry wiring diagram ive seen for my year car has a distributor cap which the wires run out the side, my cap on my car however has wires that come out the top. They are numbered. Do I match the numbers on the cap to the wiring order above?

The cap should be marked for number 1. The distributor turns clockwise. The firing order is 1-3-4-2.

You need to match the numbers on the cap to the cylinders they go to. There are paths in the cap that direct the spark in the right order. You said all the wires have spark so the timing belt isn't broke right?

Well then it is likely O.K. But just check to see if the distributor is turning when you crank it, If the distributor is turning the belt is o.k.

It stalled and won't start. It has gas, the battery is fine, I changed the spark plugs. I did get it to start rolling it but it soon died again. When it was running in sounding like it was arcing.

most common problem : igniter , distributor cap and rotor.
Open distributor cap , look inside.
probably cheaper to replace distributor assy. , as it comes complit unit with coil , igniter , hall sensor , cap and rotor.

My 1998 honda civic ex wont start, I have tried changing the fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, and air filter. It cranks but wont fire up... a couple days ago the car stopped running while my dad...

Make sure your distruibutor rotor in turning while cranking engine, if it is timing belt ok, more then likely your not getting spark to spark plugs check your ignition coil, but more then likely it's going to be your ignition module.

1977 honda civic stalled and wont start

The most common cause of this is the ignition control module.

95 civic wont start

An engine needs 3 things to run: Fuel, compression, ignition.

Maybe the timing belt went out. Take off the dist cap and see if the rotor turns as you crank the engine.

Next run a compression test on all the cylinders.
