First thing to do is to see if you have a clutch slave cylinder or cable operated clutch. Second the slave cylinder is on the end of the lever that goes into the clutch housing Before you change the clutch make sure that the problem is not in the slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder or cable as the case may be.

SOURCE: clutch problem, where is the slave cylinder located

The clutch slave cylinder is located on the left side of the transmission, but i believe that the slave cylinder may come with the master cylinder and lines already attached

How do I fix a soft or dead clutch pedal?

Depending on the vehicle (of which there was no posted information in the question) it should be located on the bell housing. UNLESS it's a vehicle equipped with an internal clutch slave which would be located INSIDE the bell housing.

The clutch master cylinder should be located on the firewall under the hood. Sort of looks like a small brake master cylinder.

Where is the slave cylinder on a 98 dodge avenger 2.0l. Internal or external?

Should be mounted on the side of the transmission. Follow the line down from the master cylinder.

I have a 2006 Kia Spectra5 hatchback......wondering if the master/slave cylinders are located inside the transmission or ouside? My mechanic can't tell me without looking at the car...?

So we are talking manual transmission clutch operation here?

Your master cylinder is located on the firewall, on the other side of the clutch pedal. Your slave cylinder is located next to the gearbox bell housing.

The slave cylinder:

Where is the 1999 Saturn SL2 slave cylinder located?

on a manual transmission the Clutch Slave Cylinder is located on the drivers side front of the transmission. You can locate it by first finding the clutch master cylinder on the drivers side of the firewall. Then fallow the plastic line to the front of the transmission.

To remove the slave you will first twist it then pull it out of the transmission.

The clutch slave and mater cylinder are replaced as an assembly.

Where is the clutch auto adjustment located at on a 98 manual Volkswagen jetta?

you most likely have a hydraulic clutch, which the clutch master cylinder is located on the firewall on the driverside close to your drivers side windsheild.it takes brake fluid to fill dot brake fluid will fill it properly. however if your slave cylinder on the transmission is leaking, this will require a replacement of the clutch slave cylinder. look for leakage under passenger side,,just under or below passenger side seat onto ground. recommend if you replace the clutch slave cylinder, you also replace clutch master cylinder located on the drivers side firewall at wind sheild.look under the car while someone pumps the clutch in and out,if you see brake fluid leaking under car onto ground or inside onto carpet at brake pedal, you have a bad clutch master cylinder. recommend you replace both slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder. this will save you lots of time and headaches. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Location of slave cylinder

I THINK ALL OF THE FORDS HAVE INTERNAL SLAVE CYLINDERS.WHERE I WORK (PROVEN FORCE/CLUTCH AND U-JOINT) WE USUALLY SUGGEST CHANGING WHEN YOU DO THE CLUTCH,BECAUSE IT IS INTERNAL.THEY TEND TO FAIL A LOT IN COLDER WEATHER ALSO

I have a 1996 ford f-150 and my clutch just sticks to the floor. It doesnt retract.

Check the clutch fluid, under the hood on the firewall, if the fluid is low then you need to inspect the for a leak. This could be a leaking slave cylinder which is located internal of the trans bellhousing, if you see any dampness this would indicate a slave cylinder leak. Replacement of the slave , line , and the master cylinder will be required. The slave and master have been updated and require all three to be replaced. Thankyou ,Please rate this answer This will help me out .
