Are you getting vacuum to the power brakes? You may have a vacuum leak at the power brake vacuum line connection at the intake or a defective brake booster allowing an internal vacuum leak and it's affecting your idle.Try blocking off the brake booster vacuum line as a test but don't drive anywhere unless you are ok with the increased brake pedal pressure needed without vacuum to the brake booster.

REPLACE the EGR valve and gasket, stop being cheap. sometimes there are things that cant be fixed. It could have a micro crack in it or a bad spring. Just brake down and replace it. I have been there so many times. You smack your head into the wall for hours on something that you dance around for months. Let me know once you replace it.

Hi djay ,you need to check the vacuum pipes beneath the injector pump it they are intact and test them with a vacuum gauge. The work of this vacuum is such that when you put it drive the vacuum increases the idle speed slightly.

HI, i would advise to check the following areas for faults. replace any part that is fouled or malfunctioning.
1. Check the air filter- This device may be clogged or dirty. replace if visibly fouled.
2. Check the fuel pressure regulator- pull the vacuum hose of the regulator. if there is gas in it, replace the fuel pressure regulator.(if there is no fuel present in the lines, move on to the next check point)
3. Replace the fuel filter and, check the voltage at th fuel pump. you should get 12V at the pump. if its lower than twelve, chekc the ground for corrosion as well as the entire wiring harness as well. all the way to the relay for fualts.
4. Check the Intake Manifold Gasket for worn or damged edges. this ware and tare will cuase leakge. replace this gasket if found to be fouled in any way.
5. Check the freash air intake hose. this hose may be clogged or damaged.
6. Last but not least, check the injectors for leaking seals and, correct pulse as well. replace any injector with a weak pulse or , leaky seal.

Check for air leaks in the vacuum pipes in and around the inlet manifold, they have a habit if going brittle and splitting.
Another possibility is the temp sender , if the ecu thinks the engine is too cold it will compensate causing the engine to " hunt". This can be something as simple as a worn radiator cap seal letting air into the cooling system and tricking the sensor.
Hope this helps, Marshall

Sounds like you will have to bleed your brakes again, but thats not the problem og hard brake peddle, need to check your power brake booster, sit right in back of master cylinder, check make sure it has vacum going to it, also to test it with engine off, press on brake peddle three time, then state engine with foot on peddle, peddle should go down a few inches, also with engine of peddle should feel soft for three pumps, if you have none of this , power brake booster is bad.
