The power windows will not go up or down. Is this a fuse problem and can I fix or should I take to a mechanic??? Have a little bit of mechanical knowledge.

Read owners manual to locate pwr window fuse.or open up box and a label diagram should be on bottom of lid or door of fuse box. locate and pull.hold up to light to check or run continuity test.
if new fuse fixes prob, it is most likely going to happen again. then you'll need to isolate window that is problem.(last one used before fuse blows)go from there. GinoR

2002 mercury mountaineer on e window not working

All the windows are on the same fuse, if the other windows are working fine, it's not a fuse issue. I susppect the motor or the window regulator.
With your ear close to the door panel, press the window switch up and down, if you hear the motor and grinding noises then the window regulator needs to be replaced, if you don't hear anything then the motor is bad OR no power is getting to the motor. either way you will have to take the door panel off and to fix.

My power windows are not working on my 2002 mercury mountaineer. Is there a part that I can get to make it work?

The power window motors on these vehicles have a cable that winds the window up and down. The cable is connected to the window regulator by a peice of plastic. When it breaks it's done. I've already replace 3 on ours. Another great ford design. Be prepared to replace the transmission if you have the v8 awd. Ours along with a lot of other people's went out under 70,000 miles. If you can... get rid of it ASAP!

All my power windows quit working all at once. How do I fix this?

I would check for a blown fuse for the window circuit. Were you trying to lower a window when this happened? If so, that window motor may be defective causing the fuse to blow. If not you may have to isolate the problem by disconnecting each window motor separately.

If not in fuse panel at dash, try power distribution center/box under hood, usually near battery. Your owners manual should tell you, if you have it.
