Your vehicle is OBD II . Some auto parts stores such as Autozone will scan the codes for free and reset the light. If you have access to a OBD II scanner and know how to use it you can do it yourself also. By disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, that will also reset the light, BUT if the issue with your car that triggered the light in the first place has not been taken care of, the light will come on again when the vehicle's computer detects the problem.

same symptoms i had but my solution was very elusive and therefore costly----the main connection of electricity from the battery to the machinery was stripped and would not come completely off but would lose contact for a few seconds at a time intermittently and sometimes for hours. the part was 7 dollars but it cost 1500 to find it out.
