Spray some WD-40 on the pulleys...one at a time. This will let you know which pulley needs lube or replacement. If your belt is too tight it will squeek also.

Do the first thing...let me know what you find.

When i start the car it makes a squeaking sound, also the fan doesn't come on it is suppose to come on when you start the car or turn on the ac the fan doesn't come on.

could be the clutch fan if your fan doesn't come on. also the belts could be to tight or the alternator belt. good luck.

The engine in my automatic '91 Integra intermittently makes a loud squeaking noise...it sounds to be coming from the left side of the car under the hood. It is not the fan/fan belt, as the noise...

are you sure its not your fan belts? because if fan belts are not turning, it means that the engine is off. check if the tension in your fan belts are still ok. if not, have it re tensioned. if noise is still present, have it changed.

Cold start fan belt squeak... slight misalignment

its possible that a pulley replacement is needed but i would first reccomend buying a lubricating spray from your local hardware store and applying it to your squeeling belt if the noise stops then you may just need to tighten or replace the belt. in addition an overtightend belt can cause undesired stress on the pulleys.

I am experiencing a squeaking noise from infront near the fan belt area. when i accelerate,it gets louder. I discovered that the power steering pump is leaking ,so i topped up the reservoir and it stopped...

i have a similar problem. a squeaking noise, sounds when i start the engine, and when i stop the engine. at times it comes when the engine is running and idle, and it lasts some time like a high pitched whistle. Ive had several mechanics look at it, and it seem to be one of the smaller pulleys that the belts run around. in the 2002 model (petrol) of the crv the belts are not the cam belts, becuase this model has a cam chain (much more robust!). so they all said its nothing to worry about. you can try having your pulley replaced.

Brakes make squeaky noises along with other noises

There are a numer of reasons brakes will squeak or squeal. Sometimes excessive dust acculation wll cause it, yet another cause is the TYPE of material the brake shoes are made of. The harder the brake shoe material , the more tendency to squeak / squeal. My suggestion is use high quality brakes such as OE brakes. Hope this helps.

Squeaking Noise

Hi, the best thing to do first is to check for pulley issues. the pulleys can make the same sound. if the pulleys are fine. it will most certainly be the belt and i would replace it.

Squeaking... pully maybe?

the ac belt is sperate from the power steering belt.. sounds to me you need to replace the belts (both of them) but theres a idler pully in the middle of them all witch may have a bearing going out on it..i had to change mine at about 85,000.. when i had the belts off i spun the pully and it was excessivly stiff cause'n slipage and also a squel.. hope its not the alt, or water pump making the noise..they can run ya into some $$
