Double check crankshaft timing mark, on your lower timing cover has some timing marks - crankshaft should be on the 0 mark. Camshaft timing marks--intake camshaft mark set at 3 o'clock and exhaust camshaft mark set a 9 o'clock. These timing marks are critical for motor to run and start correctly. These timings marks can move while trying to install the timing belt. After, you confirm or reset timing and belt, you can confirm timing is correct by rotating the crankshaft twice. Your timing marks should be on right on timing marks discussed at the top of the page. If timing marks are off, start over with timing process.
I had same problem with similar car but i was lucky it was a sticker on window with phone number, i called any locate relay for system and replace it and car runned! Good luck
That sound could be whats called air-bound, need to purge system, Fill radiator, run engine for about 4 minutes at idle, turn off let cool down for about 5 min then being careful recheck coolant in radiator, top off fluid then repeat, make sure overflow bottle is full, After about 3 times when radiator stays full run about 15 min and listen for radiator fan motor coming on
usually when the camaro runs rough that could be bad fuel injectors-o2sensor and fuel filter-thats my guess i had the same problem and i put bad gas in and the fuel filter went bad
You have to make sure all of the air is bled out of the fuel line. start with top of fuel filter then injector pump. If it still won't run then loosen an injector pipe until it stops spitting air. It is possible that the original reason that it sputtered and stopped could be air getting sucked into the fuel line...hope this helps.
