I remember when the mobile nurse used to get a health service vehicle but i think iam showing my age here ,anyway 1998 petrol engine then if i remember rightly it should have two temperature sensors on the right side of the cylinder head and i think one of these will be defective alloying the auto choke to stay on ,hence the problem hot starting ,models vary between the years and citreon and peugeot although the engines are the same on these cars .Just cannot remember which sensor it is though ,comes with old age iam afraid .Havent lived in the UK for nearly 30yrs hence this reg thing i have no idea so a T reg is still a 1978 to me and knob if the manual choke and one of my customers all that time ago had a mazda and she drove to the school where she teached and used to hang her handbag on the choke knob ,long story but its all true

Cannot place this car as T reg is some sort of secret code to me but i would suggest that you check the temperature sensors as it sounds like the auto choke one isnt working ,although a T reg car is a 1978 surely so it would have a manual choke ?? you know the one with a knob that you pull out so you can your handbag on it? Also never take the word of a so called AA or RAC man as they are not proper mechanics but 6 month goverment training course people or failed mechanics who dont like getting their hands dirty .Any proper mechanics work on fleet truck vehicles and anyone with any sense gets out of the motor trade after they finish their apprenticeship as the wages are useless and ones social standing is below the level of traffic warden regardless of how much college you do and exams you pass as its not classed as a university type education like a degree in social history 1890 to 1893 or a marine biologist.Know wonder the UK has gone down the drain

Testimonial: "Hi, thanks for your thoughts on AA/RAC (whose suggestion improved the problem as before changing the air inlet sensor, the engine was revving by itself, now if doesn't). It is a 1998 car with automatic choke, and no, I don't hang a handbag on anything in my car! "

Peugeot 206 1.4L. I changed coil pack, spark plugs, and cleaned injectors. It still has idling problem after being driven for 20 minutes. Any suggestions?

Clean the Throttle Body and the Mass Air Flow sensor.

Put it on a pro grade scan tool and check for codes and live data. My motto is 'diagnose and repair / replace'. The 'let's try replacing this part' is expensive.

When you start the vehicle, the ECM intentionally runs the car with extra petrol to make it run rich. After 20 minutes, the car is fully warm and the ECM is looking to provide the correct mixture, not rich and not lean. Because the throttle body isn't closing properly due to carbon build up, the ECM is struggling, and trying to compensate.

Details on how to clean in the link and videos.

When the car gets warm it starts jerking as if its scavaging it is a jaguar xtype 2 ltr v6 petrol

You has an air leak AFTER the mass air flow sensor.

Check the air inlet tube for cracks and loose hose between MAF and intake manifold.

VW Passat estate 99 T reg. From start up continual misfire and lack of power until engine is warm. Once warm fault becomes intermittent. There are no warning light on dash. I have replaced HT leads with no...

There may be no check engine light but that doesn't mean there isn't a code in the ECU. Especially with a misfire. I'd have the codes scanned and see what you got. The cannister issue isn't going to give you a misfire it will give you stalling and rough idle.
Lets see what ECU is saying. You can go to Autozone if you don't have a scanner they will scan it for free. If scanning turns out negative than have a cylinder leakage test done. This way we can determine which cylinder has the problem and what the problem is.
