Drive 20+ miles to work shut van off come back out 10 minutes later and engine cranks but no start while cranking acts like it is out of time pops out intake hook up scan tool and vehicle has no codes have replaced crank sensor already never know when it will do this sernario did it about a week ago before that not for a month when it does it can come back out 3-4 hours later and it will start right up like nothing was ever wrong

THE CRANK SENSOR IS LOCATED RT UNDER THE CRANK PULLEY. IT IS USUALLYEASIEST WITH AN EMPTY TANK TO REPLACE IT.

sometimes you can test the sensor with a multimeter(volt meter that measure OHMS), it should have some reading, if it is open(no reading) it is bad. Some autozone locations can test this sensor

i had a similar problem and called the dealer during lunch hour. i talked to a mechanic, the distributor in these vehicles is plastic, and is prone to cracking.not just the cap but the body also, I have been taking the cap off and wiping the moisture out of the cap. or replacing the cap but the problem is I need a new distributor. just a cheep way to get rolling is cleaning the inside of the cap, especially when it is very damp or the outside temp changes alot during the day. good luck.

I have seen crank sensors go and leave no codes, but, likely the fuel pump is going away...they get hot and seize, then cool down and work again. I would not replace either without proper testing only because parts are expensive and there are other heat sensitive components in there. (coil etc) Be aware that it will check out good if it is running right while tests are being done.

test and see if you have spark and fuel preasure, you may have bad feul pump, common problem is the fuel pump goes bad, but check before replacing.
