2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Fuel Filter

Your vehicle is not equipped with a fuel filter. The filter is a mesh screen that is attached to the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank, and is not a serviceable part, unless the filter or pump is defective. It is rare to have the screen on the module to become clogged or to need replacing.

There are 2 filters.

1. One is on the end of the pickup tube inside of the gas tank.
2. The second is in-line, above the front edge of the gas tank, inboard of the frame member. It is part of the fuel regulator/filter assembly.

TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS YOU REMOVE COIL PACK MOUNTING BOLTS THEN REMOVE THE COIL PACK WITH BOOT OVER THE SPARK PLUG.YOU HAVE 6 INDIVIDUAL COIL PACK TO EACH CYLINDER. YOU NEED A 3/8 RATCHET WRENCH - LONG 3/8 EXTENSION -SPARK PLUG SOCKET - SPARK PLUG GAUGE.AND TORQUE WRENCH.THE 2000 MODEL JEEPS FUEL FILTER INSIDE THE TANK.1993 - 1996 MODEL JEEPS FUEL FILTER LOCATED LEFT SIDE OF THE VECHICLE NEAR THE FUEL TANK.

Location of the fuel filter on 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is in the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump assembly/Module system. It's exactly in front of the fuel tank on the Driver's side. The fuel filter lines have tabs on them pinch the tabs and pull the line off. Good luck!

For 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee the Fuel Filter is located under vehicle, driver side, below bed area, front of fuel tank, mounted on chassis in fuel line.

1. Before servicing the vehicle, please familiarize yourself with safety procedures.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
3. Remove or disconnect the following:
   Negative battery cable Fuel supply, return and pressure lines Mounting bolts Fuel filter/pressure regulator

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   Fuel filter/pressure regulator to the body. Torque the bolts to 30 inch lbs. (3 Nm). Fuel pressure, return and supply lines Negative battery cable
2. Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 4.0L MFI 6cyl:
The Fuel Filter is located under vehicle, driver side, below bed area, front of fuel tank, mounted on chassis in fuel line.

2 things: fuel filter needs to be replaced, if done already, tank and pump should be ok as vehicle is only 5 yrs old, but may be dirty from bad fuel and/or foreign contamination, have the tank flushed. plz rate-bozcro

go to auto zone.com for the fuel filter location if you dont see it on the frame rail under the vehicle. if its never been changed, that could be the problem.

Its on top of the fuel sending unit on the fuel tank

Get under the vehicle and start at the fuel tank and go forward you will find it. If its a Grand Cherokee Laredo the fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump so the whole fuel pump has to be replaced
