Car hard start gas low - Elantra Hyundai Cars & Trucks

This is the stepping motor fault, this controls the cold start throttle and regulates all throttle operations. You will need a techie to check it out.

Is the check engine light on ?
Have you checked base fuel pressure with a gauge ?

is their black smoke at the tail pipe if their is to much gas

Go back and double check everything you have done.. if it did not have the problem and does now.. you have caused the problem.

Fuel filter clogged, weak or faulty fuel pump. Have fuel pressure checked, if its ok, then check igniton coil or module.

whenever you are very low/out of fuel you risk some gunk being sucked into the fuel filter. start there.

you could boost the car and try to turn it over but you may be too low on gas to get it to the engine (side note gm likes to put the fuel pump in the gas take to keep it cool) running your car on less that 1/4 take its hard on the pump because it over heats and could be burned out

change the fuel filter. when gas gets low in the tank like that it starts to pull up trash from the bottom of the tank
