I have never heard of a blown cam shaft. A cam shaft is a solid metal rod with tappets on it to work the valves, so this question does not make sense. And if you have a warrenty why isn't it covered?

My husband car is a 2005 Audi A6 with 120,000 miles. While the front bumper was being reparied in the body shop the car won't start. The dealer informed us one of the camshafts was blown and it was going...

If the Audi ran fine when delivered to the body shop a bunch of red flags just went up the pole. A camshaft doesn't blow but instead it wears. Lobes on the cam will wear from a lack of lubrication which will over time cause a miss in the cylinder that is related to that particular cam lobe. The car will still run but have a missfire. If the car will not run at all then perhaps the timing belt has broken. It should be replaced at every 90K miles, so I assume yours was done around 30K ago. If the car was in a front end collision, perhaps a speed sensor or something else was damaged preventing the car from running. My advice is to obtain a second opinion from a mechanic that you can trust.

I want to buy an Audi A6 and have two options: i- 2001 Audi A6 with 92,000 miles on it or ii- 1999 Audi A6 with 66,000 miles on it.. Which one would you recommend?

With the year difference only being two years apart I would go with the lower mileage vehicle. But remember that just because it's lower mileage doesn't mean it's in better shape mechanically.A quick trip to your trusted auto mechanic and a small charge of $25 per car can get you a prepurchase inspection, which will tell you any problems the vehicle might have, aka oil/fluid leaks, etc.I hope I could help.....get back to me with any questions

Audi a6 heaters not given out hot air

this is more than likely a problem with your thermostat in the cooling system .heres a few things to check to be sure make certain your blower fan is on high and temp setting is in the hottest setting check to see if   air is coming from your heater ducts  also be sure to thoroughly let the engine warm up 10 to 20 minutes  before checking. if the air is blowing but  luke warm still your thermostat is stuck in the open position  and will cause the engine to run to cold and performance will also suffer as will your heat will not be sufficient  to heat the passenger compartment  this repair should cost no more than $150 max to replace buy a repair shop    this is a  common problem in older cars and this is generally   a quick  repair to be made  for almost any repair facility  should take under 45 minutes to complete once repair is started

Noise while turning when accelerating

Probably a, or both front CV (constantly variable) joints in the front half-shafts (the driveshafts that run from your transmission to both your front wheels) are going bad. Not a too uncommon problem. They run about 150-160$ Canadian dollars a piece for remanufactured front shafts (from NAPA Auto Parts). Not too sure about labour cost, could be a few hundred dollars.

Electric window

It's probably the regulator. I don't know whether the A6 uses the same part as the A4, but if so, I have a spare regulator in my garage that is available. I'll see if I can find out whether they use the same part number or not and will let you know (if I can find information online, I'll post the links so that you can see they're the same or different).
