I would want to know if you have normal compression on all 6 cylinders, and if the other 5 are firing correctly.
Usually when you pull a wire and the engine smooths out, you have another cylinder miss going on at the same time.
How many trouble codes do you have in the computer ?

SOURCE: ford f350 6.0L Turbo runs rough

Still sounds like there is a fuel issue. I would check the obvious. Check the Air filter and fuel filter and water seperator. Debris could have gotten into the new injector, which also could have upset the other injector. Get the exact code from the dealer your truck experianced.

SOURCE: engine code p0307 cylinder #7 misfire

It could be carbon deposits on valve seats keeping valves from totally closing. You can try getting you a can of motorcraft PM3 top end engine cleaner and get engine up to operating temp then remove one of the small vacuum lines from the intake and draw the contents of the can slowly into the engine. After you have drawn in the contents shut engine off and let it soak for about 45 minutes then crank it back up and let it run until it clears. Now it will smoke like a forrest fire while you are doing this so don't be alarmed, just tell the neighbors you are spraying for mosqitos. This may cure the problem. If not you may be looking at a valve job.
This can be verified with a compression test if this is what is causing it.

SOURCE: rough running, erratic spark

Run a compression test on the cylinders. If reading is low on any drop a little engine oil into the pot. If compression rises you have compession ring problems. Remove all plugs before you try this and place leads away from engine.

What do I do next? My 2001 olds alero 3.4l v6 is misfiring constantly. Scanned obd2 error code p0301. Already changed spark plug, wire, and coil for cylinders 1 and 4. Still have same problem.

I recommend checking all injectors and O rings on the injectors if an O ring cracks air can raise Cain with misses so can injectors another thing is cam to look at will cause a constant miss but only on 1 cylinder at a time but doubt its the cam. check injectors and O rings also pull 1 plug wire at a time with wire pliers while engine is running and find the 1 cylinder that is giving you the problem when you pull the plug wire that is missing the engine will smooth out then that cylinder is your problem wear rubber gloves with the plug wire pliers so you dont get bit let me know if i can help please rate my solution as this is how i earn my achievements on fixYa thanks.

Car idles rough, sometimes dies in reverse, it's worse in cold.

A cylinder that doesn't fire could be 1 of 3 things: no spark, no gas, or no compression.
Sure, it could be a bad injector, or clogged, but you should do some tests before buying an expensive new injector. You should first check the injector circuit on #2 cylinder. It's a pretty simple circuit, really. Each injector has 2 wires, a power wire and a ground wire. The power wire is one wire, which is spliced to each injector, and has battery voltage on it anytime the ignition switch is on or in "run". Each injector's ground wire is a separate wire going into the computer. When the computer internally grounds for a split second that injector's circuit, the injector sprays fuel out a tiny opening, a nozzle. You can check the circuit for #2, both the power wire and the ground side of the circuit with a test light. Post back and ask, if you want me to explain.
You also might want to check the compression in #2, just to assure you there is no mechanical problem causing a loss of compression in that cylinder.

When I first start my 2001 Jeep Cherokee in the morning, it runs very rough for a few minutes, then is smooth. Doesn't run rough every morning. The check engine light comes on and sometimes flashes,...

You could have 1 of these 3 problems.

1. The injector on cylinder #5 is clogged and not injecting.
2. The Ignition coil on Cylinder #5 is not firing.
3. One of the exhaust valves on #5 is sticking due to carbon build up.

Hope one of these gets you closer to the solution.

2004 GMC Envoy misfire

If you pull the #2 plug out and start the engine do you see a spark? You didn't mention if you checked the wires or not, but it could be a bad plug wire. If there is a spark, I'd try and see if the #2 injector is actually firing like you mentioned above.

Tuned up car changed 02 sensor full tank of fuel still running rough

Oxygen sensor only report the condition of the engine the rough running condition can range from a worn sparkplug wires to worn sparkplugs to valve problems to injector problems. with the cadillac deville a tune up should be the first attempt to smooth the rough idle with the inspection of the cap and rotor cap and rotor do have a tendancy to arc internally and create misfire so does sparkplug wire that can leak spark voltage to ground and create misfire. the spark plug wire especially if they are brittle and hard can create issues

It runs rough sometimes it dies, I have tuned it up , plugs dist cap, wires rotor the computer , It has very poor gas milage .it has a 2300 with automatic trans,

have the intake gasket checked. spray carb/choke cleaner around intake gasket and if rpms change then you have a bad gasket which causes rough idle bad fuel econ

Running roug at low idle, smooths out at 2500 rpms

change plug and wire if its been a while most cars have 90000 miles platinum plugs in them.but the wires wear before plugs.so change plugs and wires.+clean fuel injectors .change fuel filter and air filter.if car still run rough your idling to low.have idling check .

Check engine light comes on temporarily - engine chuggs at idle

Before changing you pcm try cleaning your egr valve. remove the valve and see if its stuck in the open position if so use a small pick to clean around the spring.
