I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited edition and the drivers door control panel doesnt work at all(power windows, locks, mirrors) The controls on the other doors for the windows dont work either but the passenger door lock will work manually. Also my interior lights stay on since this all happened. Please If anyone can help me with these problems I would greatly appreciate it.

sounds like yet another module has bit the dust! Check manual and find it.

Thank you sooooooo much! The guy at Auto zone almost had me buying a control panel thing for the door which was basically $200 and as a last resort I found the solution! We found the broken ground wire and connected it and tada my jeep works again. There was also another wire with a small cut in it so we taped it up. Funny how it took us almost 3 hours of taking the whole door apart and not finding the solution there. But thanks everyone for saving me!

I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee Special Edition and without warning, my windows stopped working. I can't use the control on the passenger door and the windows won't even open manually, individually.

I had same problem it is a ground wire broken in the harness rubber boot between dthe driver door. Peel back the rubber that protects wires and you will find broken ground wire(black) add a piece of wire solder and wrap with electrical tape put rubber boot back into door everything should work.

Check the wiring in the Door. I had the same problem, cut the boot that goes between the car and the door. My wiring was broken and all I had to do was connect them back and everything works again.

Great advice...Just fixed our problem....Cut the boot just enough to get at wires...the thick black was broken apart....put a connector on both ends...plugged them together...wrapped with tape, put back into boot and everything works again....dome lights go off now, door open light is gone, power mirrors work, power windows work, dash light dimmer works, and remote locks are working again...thanks for the tip...can't imagine what this would have cost at any shop.
Love our Jeep again!!!

same thing happened to me. I was told this is common in jeeps and 90% of the time this is the solutuion. There is a rubber housing inbetween the drivers side door hinge and fuse panel with wires in it. Unhook your battery first then roll the rubber back and there will be broken wires in there. Strip the wires and reconnect them with connectors and you will be good to go. If tthe wires are broke on the drivers side panel no other windows in the jeep will work. these wires also control the mirrors.
