Supentine belt I have a 95 olds ninty eight I need to change the supentine belt it runs through the motor mount or there a way to change it an not take the mount off?

Its on the passenger side of the heat duct mounted with 2 screws

this particular engine requires the removal of the engine mount in order to replace the serpentine drive belt i know it,s not fun but has to be done

It's easy...
Disconnect the battery
Remove the supentine belt from the altenator pully, you can use a 3/8" drive breaker bar on the belt tensioner, just insert into the square slot on the tensioner and rotate it clockwise.
Remove the power wire and the harness
Remove the mounting bolts 1 under and 2 on the sides.

Just reverse the process to install the new altenator.
Make sure the supentine belt is in the proper position.
Make sure the battery is charged before starting, a drained battery can damage the FETs on the new altenator.

remove serp. belt put jack under engine use a piece of wood and lift engine a little and remove motor mount remove water pump clean surface and install water pump and reassemble

need to jack the motor up after u take the bolts loose should be able to take it loose on the other end of mount two bolts ithink when jacking motor up be carfull not to dent oil pan

Not removed but part of it has to be taken apart.
It uses a special tool - Torx Socket. I have done it in just a few min - took the spacer out of the mount and put the belt on - did not have to raise the motor to reassemble!

Depends on which one you are replacing? If you are replacing the upper one on the belt end of the engine, yes it's on the passenger side and it is fairly easy to change. You need to jack up the engine with a floor jack and a woodblock to change it.

yes sometimes the upper mount or center mount located on the pass side of the motor compartment has to be removed to replace the belts,just put a jack under the motor to support it when you undo the mount.
