95 cutlas sup. you can drive it park take the key out go back latter the car wont start.my husband can come get me when he gets there some times it will start sometime not.he thinks it the chip in the key. not battery.have checked out everything we can think of.

I hope you got it fixed by now. If he works on it, make sure that the emergency brake is on and the tires are chocked. I have done a lot of work on the ground underneath the car and safety is always number one before I start to do the work. As for the car not starting, the only reason I can think of is that it is not in park or the neutral safety switch is not reading it in park. You can try it in neutral also.

This is a strange one that might not be easy to find. My ball park guess is that you have an ignition or ignition relay problem. See if jiggling the keys while starting helps this. I don't think that the amount of time you are waiting really has any bearing on this problem. Other problems could be a grounding issue, starter, maybe battery or alternator.

You need to replace the car battery.

Do you have power at the injector plugs with the key on?

Turn ignition key one click>put car in neutral>start engine>put in drive. Chances are that you've experienced ignition issues before this happened. I was told that it's not uncommon for the '95 T-bird since the ignition is ****

may have bad horn relay, for the no start check key chip and ignition switch could have bad chip contacts or just bad switch. hope this helps.

the neutral safety switch is probably faulty the radio says safety because the wrong code was entered 3 time key needs to be on for 3 hours hook up battery charger check engine light may be code for trans issue

Adjust the shift linkage. It's come loose.
