Locks that unlock on their own

I have a 2004 Ford Expedition and for some reason the power locks just unlock themselves. This can happen when I am driving - in fact you can hear them repeatedly unlocking themselves, even if they are unlocked. Most annoying is that when you lock it and leave it the locks just unlock. This runs down the battery so it won't start.

I took it to the dealership yesterday and they said there is nothing wrong, yet it happened today.

Thanks for the suggestion. It went back to the dealership and they said that it was the remote - first time they had ever seen that problem. So.... $200 for a new remote and we will see if the problem is solved.

One of the lock actuators is bad. It's not locking or unlocking all the way. watch the locks while working the lock and unlock switches. If you see a lock with a sluggish response, thats the bad one. Note-- Over working the locks while testing will cause over heating and locks will stop.
