SOURCE: Wife's durango is idling rough and running rough

With both codes pointing at TP sensor, I'd certainly take the time to replace it, as well as make sure connections to it are clean, and good. Chances are, you won't be able to take part back anyway. As far as exhaust goes, if it's leaking in the right places in may cause improper readings at sensors downstream, but if not obvious leak, I wouldn't be concentrating in that area right now.

SOURCE: Car idles

If it revs up and down you need retrain the car to idle. I know it sounds crazy but you need to ask dealer or local shop the steps to do it.

REMOVAL - 4.7L
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 4.7L V–8 engine is bolted to the front/top of the right cylinder head (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).

It is easier to remove/install sensor from under vehicle.

Raise and support vehicle.
Disconnect electrical connector at CMP sensor (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).
Remove sensor mounting bolt (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).
Carefully twist sensor from cylinder head.
Check condition of sensor o-ring.

2007 Dodge Durango. Idles at 1500-2000 rpm's and stays high even when in gear. I have replaced the IAC sensor and TP sensor and can't hear any leaks. What could this be??

Did you check the throttle plate to make sure it is closing completely ?
The tps only tells the computer what position the throttle plate is in.
A vac leak could be very tough to find, especially if it is a leaking intake gasket or EGR valve if equipped.

Have a 03 durango just had fuel pump, spark plugs replaced now its cutting out and the check engine light flashes for a few seconds, and idles funny once in awile

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Looks like that you have a faulty TPS (throttle position sensor) or MAF (mass air flow) sensor. If one of the sensors are faulty you'll have erratic idle. Have it replaced to resolve the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Runing high rpm while in idle

First check for a loose hose or a vacuum leak. If you do not find a leak most likely the throttle position sensor is stuck and causing the truck to idle high. The throttle position sensor sticks, and if this happens you will need to replace it.
