run the fault codes to find out why the ambient temp sensor is not working correctly.

If this a petrol engine, you have an air leak some where on the intake manifold. Test with soapy water and a paint brush whilst engine is running at idle. check all connections to the manifold and when soapy water gets sucked away, you have identified your leak. Start with the air cleaner and work along system back to the manifold.

this toyota 4 runner takes 5.2 liters of oil and the correct oil is 5W 30 motor oil. hope this helps.

More than likely the low idle you are experiencing is caused by a dirty IAC valve located right under the throttle body itself. It needs to be cleaned out with carb cleaner. Remove the electrical connector, the two vacuum hoses, and two screws. To put it back, use a little sealant to seal it before screwing it back together but do not get the sealant inside the IAC valve. If this 4 Runner is a V6, you may need to replace the spark plugs if old. Make sure to purchase twin electrode NGK or Denso spark plugs and gap them to .043 with a gapper.

look for a problem crank/cam position sensor

on the cable of the accelerator,there is an adjuster to its an,so you can adjust it here to rev it a little ,at 750 rpm,

Sounds like you have a computer or sensor issue with the tranny. Get it to a reputable shop to have them diagnose the problem. Won't know what is going on without a computer hooked to it.

sounds like vacuum loss related to brake booster. can you hear a vacuum leak ?
