SOURCE: Bonnet latch will not open and bonnet is in closed position

the cable connecting the handle to the latch is broken. remove the front grille and access the latch assembly. you will be able to release by hand and then replace the cable.

SOURCE: ant open bonnet

Hopefully the cable has not snapped. Have someone else lean on the bonnet a little. (Not too much or you will dent it) Try and operate the catch while they are leaning and releasing. Or sometimes dust can accumulate on the catch. Perhaps you can spray under the bonnet with a can of WD40 and hit the catch. Try the above trick again after you have sprayed it. Once you get it open find the cause before you close it again :)

SOURCE: cant open bonnet on my vauxhall astra 1.4

the bonnet is held down with a spring thats constantly under tension. to get the bonnet open you have to remove one side of the tension where the spring connects to the slam panel. put your hand in the grille and feel for where the spring goes into the slam panel, and use something like a tyre lever put through the grille hole to pop the spring away from the slam panel, thus releasing the tension. you should be able to just pull the bonnet up. my corsa has just done the same thing and this is the only way i could get into it.

SOURCE: bonnet locked

If indeed the bonnet cannot be opened from inside the car, then you are going to have to climb under or figure out how to get to the latch under the bonnet and open it. Hard pain in the rear but its the only way

Alarm goes off when the car is locked in locked

There is a couple of common possibilities - if the battery voltage falls due to it beginning to fail, the brain can think a door has been opened.

The brain needs to know everything is closed and will sound the alarm if it thinks something has been left open. Often there is a switch to tell the brain. Sometimes the switch is buried inside the door, bonnet or boot catch. Wear or maladjustment can mean the switch isn't being properly closed. Bad wiring into a door can have the same effect.
The last time I encountered this the fault was the bonnet catch, that had a switch buried inside it.

Where is the IDplate

depends on the age of vehicle but many vehicles do not have one anymore ,mtheir should be a sticker in the front door frame with the homoglonation number and the chassis number with the weights ,all europeon made vehicles will have this ,but to check the vehicle for the annual mechanical inspection then the number stamped in chassis is checked which on a merc is normally under the bonnet ,but some models its in the boot to the right of the spare wheel --

Sounds like alarm module has failed. Call ford parts and ask if common failure, if so replace. You could disconnect the alarm module and see if the car starts.

Bonnet stuck down

If the inside latch won't work, you'll have to reach up from underneath the hood to pull the lever over to open. Usually a flatblade screwdriver will help. The latch lever has to move towards driver's side to open.

Mercedes e class cannot open the boot

I have a e320 2003 model, the same has happened to me. I wondered if it could be the fuse but couldn't find a fuse that managed the boot.....
This problem is identical to the other post "boot wont open electronicaly by the boot release latch above the number plate, the boot release button inside the car or the key fob! I have to use the manual key to mechanically open it now."

Flat battery

No, you dont need to break windows. use the mechanical key that is slotted in the end of the normal electronic gizmo key to open the drivers door. It doesn't work on the boot lid even though it should so you need to energise the electric boot release from unde rthe bonnet as described elsewhere in this solution.
