1993 jeep grand cherokee limited with no fuel pressure. Tryed new fuel pump relay switch. Any possible solutions??

Was running all day until i made a stop at gas station and shut off the engine. No i didnt put gas.Went to restart but didnt start and it had fuel pressure at the time. Now it doesnt have pressure. And i cant hear my fuel pump turn on. Checked my fuel filter and that was good. i was thinking maybe the relay switch. But jus replaced that and the fuel pump last summer. Note: iv been driving around with about a 1/4 tank lately. And i know that aint to good to constantly run on 1/4 tank or less.

fuel filter is underneath in the back where your gas tank is.it looks like a little can with disconnects on both sides.your fuel pump relay should be under the hood. where fuses is.

SOURCE: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Pump?

Between 100-140 thousand miles the fuel pumps go out on the 1993 cherokee. Its a fact. All parts are manufactured with the knowledge that it will last for a specific period of time then it dies. The relay switch was helpful for a brief while because there was still some juice in that pump, but now that it is gone it is gone.

If you don't see the fuse box under the dash in the driver leg area or beneath the radio check for a covered box under the hood. There should be a fuse spec guide on the lid of the box that tells you where specific wattage should go and for what purpose. But, your fuel pump problem will not be solved by a new fuse.

It sounds like the torque converter is locked up. Possible a bad torque converter or converter solenoid. First thing you should try is unplugging the solenoid plug on the transmission. Drivers side, near the shifter. Not the three pin connector near the pan on the same side. The connector you want is higher than the reverse light plug.

SOURCE: 1993 Jeep Cherokee starts when cold. Runs short distance.

It can possibly be the crank position sensor mounted on the top of the bell housing on the passenger side of the vehicle causing the problem. I have replaced a few of these for the same reason.

Testimonial: "I thought about this but the engine power light was not on. Will try it. Thanks."

sounds alot the the pcm it controls the fuel pump and ign system but the anti theft would keep it from starting because the key has a transponder in it programmed for that vehicle and that would kill all ign if triggered

Inertia switch

Jeep does not use an inertia switch like fords. It uses a relay system that grounds with the computer or oil pressure switch. No oil pressure no run.

2001 jeep grand cherokee limited will crank over but will not start.

What engine? Sounds like there is a relay or crank sensor issue or possibly an ignition switch. There are three engine options.

1990 Jeep Cherokee Limited not starting/getting fuel, has spark.

It is possibly the fuel relay switch found under the hood just above the right wheel well. There should be 4 different relays in line, the second one from the front should be your fuel relay. You can can test by taking another relay and switching them out to see if you have different results. I purchased a new one for around $20 and have not had any problems since.

1993 jeep grand cherokee limited starts for 2-3 seconds then dies. new fuel pump and crank sensor. It will run if ether is sprayed in intake. Fuel pressure is good. Can not "feather" gas...

Sounds like your injectors are not getting any signal from the ecu. Have you checked to see if you have a check engine light that illuminates when you first turn the ignition to on? If no check engine light is lit on your dash, your ecu needs to be repaired or replaced.

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited ,when I go to start it, the relay starts clicking and the fuel pump starts pumping after about 15- 20 minutes of leaving the key on. Also the security light comes...

Certainly sounds like a bad fuel pump regulator. You have a 95 so the regulator isn't part of the fuel pump (on 96 and newer its all one assembly.) You don't have a fuel pressure tester by any chance do you? That would be a great tool in this situation.

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not start. When

Check your fuel pump ,fuel lines,.One of the most overlooked starting causes is fuel delivery. Find the fuel rail to the injectors. Assuming you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, remove the dust cap on the fitting on the fuel rail and press the center pin in the valve to see if there's a good amount of pressure for a very brief second. There will be no continuous pressure unless the engine is running or is being cranked over. Have somebody crank it for you for a second to see if high pressure is present.

If not, first look at the fuel cutoff switch usually located in the inside stowage compartment of the vehicle. See if the reset button clicks when you press it. Next check the fuel pump fuse and relay, and finally the pump itself could be bad.

Starting problems

Sound like fuel pump. Need to check fuel pressure. It seem to be finally getting back up to the motor, then starting up. Try parking the front of the car down hill and see if it starts up a few days in a row????
