Where is the ECU on mercedes s430 2004?

Are all ecu same for this model. mine has suspension control sun roof. Think it's the more expensive model.

try a salvage yard and ask to check their internet base to see if they can located one if they dont have one on the yard!!

It's typically the motors or the special drive tubes that it uses. If you here a clicking noise then the sunroof became to tight and ruined the motor gears. You can actually switch the two motors, one is for the shades and needs less power then the other motor. They are identical, switch them. Nex make sure they are very tight to the 3 mounting bolts, there is a rubber washer bushing that wears out and alloys the motor to flex too much, causing the gear mis-alignment and gear grinding. This works great I do it all the time.

What does ESP light mean on a cls 500 Mercedes Benz
The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP system is faulty.
You should access the ESP Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: brake pedal switch, front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP ECU, in other words reset the ESP system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.

Check & replace if necessary the brake pedal switch placed above pedals on the support.
If the problem still occurs you should access the ABS & ESP ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) memored.
Then you will be able to replace bad piece(s) and fix the problem by erasing all DTC stocked inside ABS & ESP ECU, and reset it.

I'm not 100% sure on Jags, but on a domestic vehicle you have to clear the code with a scan tool. You should be able to call any Jaguar service center and get a quick answer.

I had to have the battery replaced on my 2005 rx330 and now the windows in the rear and the passenger side cannot be operated from the drivers side and the sun roof opens all the way with both buttons and...
Looks like the window/door control ECU lost it's program while the power was off or low. You need to see the lexus dealer to reprogram the ECU which is done with a sequence of buttons to press.

When you get this kind of problems, you always start replacing plugs, and eventually air filter and fuel filter if they are dirty.
Once you exclude this simple causes, usually is either an injectors problem, or an ECU problem.
ECU is the computer that controls electronic injection and often is cause for the problem.
YOu cannot test or fix the ECU at home, it must be connected to a machine that controls computer and check fuel flow at the same time, you need to do this in a garage.
Start doing the simple things, and eventually go to a mechanic if problem keeps going.
