Vibration in steering wheel that will disappear after slowing down and then accelerating in 2002 Subaru outback

After stopping as I accelerate back to 60 mph vibration begins to occur being felt in the steering. It will progressively get worse if I continue to accelerate but if I slow down and then speed up again it will disappear. I may have to do it 3-4 times.

I had similar problem with my '99 outback. Replaced the front half shafts and seemed much better. A few months later seemed to be comming back so replaced the driver side shaft again and the problem disappeared. I had put in rebuilt shafts and the driver side shaft was not rebuilt correctly.

2001 subaru outback vibrates in the steering wheel and gas pedal when accelerating up hills and has a delay in acceleration once I press gas pedal

Might need to clean MAF sensor. https://youtu.be/-1AxwtXcY7I
Unlike the guy I simply use q-tip and denatured alcohol or isopropanol. Brake Cleaner will also work. You must be very carefull not to damage the tiny wire that senses the airflow.
Also could be dirty air filter, car may need a tune up, bad fuel pump, dirty throttle plate and so on.
good luck!

Vibration goes away when steering wheel slightly turned

That turning of the steering wheel puts lateral pressure on CV joints. IT can also put a load on the axel bearing. If the vibration stops then you have an idea where to look. IF it does not stop then it is most likely tires.

Have 2002 outback with bad vibration on gear , the engine runs good , I did replaced all mounts , still the same problem, help please.

I concur with anon263. When we replaced driver-side axle with an aftermarket one, the vibration was horrible. Most people around me would not believe that was the cause, but as soon as we replaced it with a Subaru OEM rebuilt axle, the vibration disappeared. Get a new one from Subaru if you can afford it. Here's hoping the rebuilt one will last, although some out there have said that it may cause other problems down the line, most likely just because it won't last as long as a new one. The aftermarket axles, with exception of MW, are off just enough in their designs and spline size to allow harmonic vibration to transfer from the engine to the wheel and then your steering wheel when you are stopped at a stop sign and still in gear. The vibration usually goes away when you put it in neutral or park. In my case, I even thought I detected some strange vibration when driving.

2001 Impala, strong right to left vibration felt in the front end ONLY when accelerating, NOT felt through steering wheel NOT felt when coasting, or slowing down, strait or turning vehicle tracks...

Has to be a drive axle, most likely an inner joint, should be able to feel the play if one is bad (jacked up to let the wheel spin freely).
Also. If the front suspension is weak,or lowered, the CV axle will bottom out in the inner plunge cup and make a terrible vibration.
