Anytime you have coolant in the oil and it's not the oil cooler it means the engine must be disassembled to locate the failure. The next options are not so pretty. There are three remaining causes for coolant in the motor oil and all require engine dis-assembly. This can be tricky because the repair overlaps and it is difficult to tell which one is causing the problem. For example: A repair shop has told you the cylinder head is cracked, and as they start dis-assembly they can discover it was the intake manifold gasket that has failed. It's up to the honesty of the repair shop to inform the customer that the cost of the repair will be less. Or the opposite can happen, example: A repair shop has told your engine has a blown head gasket, once the dis-assembly is complete they inform you the head gasket is ok, and the cylinder has been pressure checked and is ok. This only leaves the engine block as the failure and must be replaced to repair the problem, and that can be very costly. Always check the intake gasket first on V6, V8 and V10 engines. Then the cylinder head gaskets, cylinder heads and finally the engine block.

tip

Antifreeze It's expected longevity and it's job forthe engine.

Antifreeze is just not another fluid to spend money on, it is important to replace this vital fluid every two years and here's why. Antifreeze coats the water pump and the thermostat and other engine metals so that it does not rust. Without it the thermostat would stick and cause the engine to overheat and destroy the engine, it also lubricates the water pump bearing making the pump last much longer without. If you run a car without anti freeze it will destroy your water pump and thermostat and pump it will also allow the engine to rust on the inside as well. Antifreeze also keeps the water from depositing harmful chemicals inside the block for instance if the water is high in calcium the heat coat the steel with the calcium in the engine will cause the engine not to cool it will cause a coating of calcium on the metal parts that will cause the antifreeze not to be able to draw the heat away from the metal causing hot spots in the block and causing premature engine failure. Always Mix the antifreeze with 50% water and %50 antifreeze this gives you the best protection for high temperatures and for the lowest temperatures. IF you change the antifreeze yourself be sure to catch the antifreeze in a bucket and dispose of properly. Antifreeze will attract animals cats dogs and birds and they will drink it and die so do not leave it out where pets or children can get to it. bottle it up and recycle it.
Many cars have different antifreeze types for instance Buick and other GM products has a gel like antifreeze and it needs to be change with the same type or it will damage the engine. many others require glycol antifreeze and this can be bought at any parts store. When changing antifreeze it is always a good ideal to replace the thermostat and the radiator cap. The reason is you already have the fluid drained and it is best to do it at that time it saves labor and time. Radiator caps will wear out, the rubber gasket fails over time and will not hold the correct pressure on the cooling system causing the engine to overheat, since the cap keeps keeps pressure on the cooling system it keeps the water or antifreeze from boiling over. Once the cap fails it will allow the liquid to boil and it will overheat the engine, What you can't see is where the liquid does not touch and that's next to the cylinder walls there air bubbles can form and cause hot spots on the cylinder walls, this causes ring failure and reduces the life of the engine dramatically.
Just a thought for you that love animals, they do make antifreeze that is pet friendly, (pets won't Drink it) most antifreeze is made out of crushed orange peel and the oil in the peel is sweet to animals and they are addicted to it, however this will kill them it shuts down their stomach. Just in case you want the pet friendly type anti freeze. Also if yo spill antifreeze you can buy a bag of cat litter to pick it up with. To do this spay a small amount of water on it then use the cat litter to pick it up put in a plastic bag and dispose in a trash can. The more you dilute it the less it attracts the animals.
While you are doing this now is a good time to check that the overflow tank hose does not have a hole in it or the overflow tank if either has a hole in it it can pump water out of the radiator and cause you to lose fluid out of the cooling system and cause the engine to over heat.

Why does antifreeze goes in the container in my Toyota Rav4

I know that antifreeze in mobil Agya is used to adjust the temperature of the engine. For example, when the temperature is extremely low in winter, the antifreeze can ensure the normal operation of your car's engine so that you can drive in winter. Hope this answer might help you.

My toyota after along drive white smoke comes out off the silencer could it be the turbo because the turbo shaft play.

White smoke is caused by water and or antifreeze entering the cylinder, and the engine trying to burn it with the fuel. The white smoke is steam. There are special gaskets (head gaskets are the primary gaskets) that keep the antifreeze from entering the cylinder area. The cylinder is where the fuel and air mixture are being compressed and burned. Any amount of antifreeze that enters this area will produce a white steam that will be present at the tailpipe area.
Check to see if the proper amount of antifreeze is inside the radiator and the overflow bottle. Also check to see if antifreeze has contaminated the engine oil. You can look at the engine oil dipstick, or look at the under side of the engine oil filler cap. If the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, it will have the appearance of a chocolate milkshake. Do not start the engine if the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, as serious internal engine damage can result.

Runnin thru antifreeze. is there a certain kind of antifreezze to use on yhe saturn sl

The 2000 Saturn SL came from the factory with Dex-Cool antifreeze (The Pink stuff) I don't know what your engine has in it now...it may have been changed.

If your car is "runnin thru antifreeze", the thing you should be concerned the most with is WHERE is the antifreeze going? If your engine and cooling system is working properly, you should not have to add any antifreeze at all. Adding antifreeze and not finding out and repairing the reason it was low, is a good way to totally destroy an engine.

Antifreeze light says system is low and car runs hot but antifreeze level is where it should be

Sounds like it could be a thermostat not opening. If the thermostat doesn't open then it will get hot because its not allowing the cooled antifreeze from the radiator into the engine. Your car has two circulations with the antifreeze. While your car is running it is heating up the antifreeze in the engine and when it reaches a certain temperature the thermostat opens and takes the hot antifreeze from the engine and puts it into the radiator to be cooled. At the same time the cool antifreeze from the radiator is placed into the engine to keep it cool. If your thermostat doesn't open your engine will get hot and overheat.

Why do I have white smoke coming out the back of the engine by the heater hoses and out my exsaust pipes? Also my car is idleing rough and there is no dexcool in my oil....thanks for your time. Your web...

How did antifreeze get in the oil or cylinder in the first place? The engine probably overheated and a head gasket failed due to excessive heat, thus allowing antifreeze to enter the cylinder (Where it is not meant to be).
