Acura Tl 2005 won't start

I think either blown fuse for starter or ignition or bad starter or ignition. No cranking sound when trying to start engine

This vehicle is equipped with a chipped ignition system. On your dash warning lights, when turn key into on position you'll notice a yellow key symbal, it should flash then go out. If it flashes then goes to solid on, it means the system does not recognize signal from key. This can be because of wrong key(original valet key will not start car) or key for whatever reason has been deprogrammed. Which can only be done by dealership unfortunately. If system is working(light does go out) then you need to look at possible brake switch sensor,park/neutral safety switch on shifter, and for signal at started when key turned to start position

Car won't start? Try this:

Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.

  • Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
  • Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck bendix gear.
  • Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.

SOURCE: 96' 3.2 Acura TL dies while driving now won't

i have posted this solution before, I will give you the short version. On the steering column, under the left side of the cowling, on the opposite side directly across from where the key goes in the ignition,... there is a wire loom screwed to that end with 2 screws, remove this and clean the inside of both sides CAREFULLY, dont break anything. expensive dealer part! just scrape it lightly and wipe a little, carefully re assemble, dont bend it, dont screw it back in too tight, you cant make it go together any closer than it will. This solution solves a number of odd problems attributed to ACURA quitting , battery not charging, lights flickering turn signals not working, a lot of things, so i think everyone should do this to there ACURA, and its EASY!

dead crank, starter silent? does the relay click?"
if no relay clicks in DRIVE , shift to Netural and crank, see it works.
all causes,
1; battery is dead, do head amps work and with key off and then key on and HL bright and heater blower fan on high same time,? good.
2: battery lugs loose or rusty clean and tight wins.
3: PRNDL problems (try neutral)
4: BCM problem , reset it.
5: bad starter. relay
6: bad starter.

if 1 fails jumper cable start the car, or all AAA autoclub tow and jump it. or charger the battery with a battery chargers.
or load test the battery.

2005 Acura tl car won't start

Do you get warning lights on the dash ?
If yes, a mechanic would check for voltage at the starter.
The circuit between the key switch and the starter has a neutral or clutch safety switch that could have failed.

2001 jaguar s-type won't crank battery new and charged. Turn the ignition car won't make a sound

many things will cause no start problems could have faulty ignition switch.use test light see if power going to starter if not check ignition fuse to starter.if power going to starter, more likely starter solenoid or starter faulty.if ignition fuse okay and starter and solenoid okay still no start problem could be in the ignition switch or inhibitor switch faulty.code scan for faulty theft security system which will also cause no start conditions.

2005 Altima won't start, hear clicking sound coming from fuse box,key stuck in ingintion, won;t turn over, tried to jump start.

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

All of a sudden my car won't start. The battery is good, lights work It's not clicking like it's trying to start. The engine is okay, the starter usually makes that horrible waahh whiney sound...

it can actually be your starter. many times a bad starter just wont turn at all. it can be that, a short, or the only other thing i can think of would be a blown starter fuse. you can check your fuse box in the engine compartment, it should be like a 50 to 80 amp fuse thats in a little clear box in the fuse section of your fuse compartment. hope this helps. and if fuse is good, you can try poking the starter with a stick and try to start. if it does something after poking it, then its the starter

Location of starter for 1996 acura tl 3.2

FIXED!!!!!

So I literally just had the same problem. I came out from church and my car would start. Everything seemed in order...it just wouldn't engage the starter. I tried everything until I went under the hood and began pulling fuses, it was the 20 amp 'horn stop' fuse was blown...I replaced it and immediately my alarm started going off...then blew the 20 amp I put in...replaced it with a 30amp and then disarmed with the key in the door...car started right up.
