If there is an adjustment screw then ajust it to where it is needed.

The valve is located on the intake manifold. It will cause a slow idle but in most cases it causes a fast idle not slow when it sticks.

Lexus stalls
You need a new idle air control valve located under the throttle body. I know somebody did the cleaning and its work,but it's very tight to remove it out. You can do a search on " RX idle air control valve"

Will not idle when first started. it starts and dies..after it warms up a little by holding the excelarater down, it then idles properlyl
Have the IAC (idle air control) valve checked or replaced. This unit controls airflow throught the intake-engine when the gas pedal isn't pressed!!

1999 gs300 shows code p1349 and the engine runs really rough at idle , runs fine off idle
Its a Oil Control Valve most likely. Get the valve. Its like 100 from Lexus. Mine did the exact same thing with that code. GS300

Car will not idle 2002 lexus gs 300
if it drives fine off idle then I would suspect the Idle air control valve.
If its hard to start unless you put your foot slightly on the gas then again I would suspect the IAC

96 lexus ls400. Car idles high and runs rough until competely warmed up then seems to run normal. I'm worried this could be stressing the engine out ? Not sure what it could be, I thought when your idle...
It could be a idle air valve, a loose, unplugged or missing vacuum hose or a throttle position sensor.
