On the 4.6L, the coolant temp. sending unit is one of two at the front of the intake manifold. The one on the left is the coolant temp. sending unit(gauge). The one on the right is the coolant temp. sensor(computer).
I have the same year car, first check the brake fluid level, (under the hood driverside in the back behind the coolant resivoir). If it is full check the E-brake because since it is a foot brake you can strech the wire and when you stop and go, the wire moves now and light is triggerd...
Open the hood, look to the right just above the battery. A clear tank should be filled with coolant. There are two caps on top, the one closest to the battery is the sensor.
read the codes with an obd 2 scanner. plug it under the glove box. sometimes they will tell you that this scanner is good for 96 and newer cars, but you must have one for your 95 tbird. few dollars at parts house, post what codes you find and i will help
