Test the circuit board wires on the back side of your taillights where the bulbs go in to see if power is going there with the blinker on, if yes replace the circuit board (quite common with these trucks). If there is no power back there check your flasher relays for each turn signal, assuming they dont click off and on when you tip the turn lever. if all else fails, head for the multifunction switch behind your steering wheel inside the column that your turn signal/wiper/cruise control lever is connected to.

Turn signal blinking fast. Why would it do this?

If the dash signal is blinking fast and the back of car signal is NOT working, then the problem is the bulb in the back of the car. The one that is not blinking needs to be replaced. The bulb that's not blinking is burned out, and this changes the resistance of the blinker circuit causing the blinker to flash rapidly on the dash indicator. FIX: Replace the burned out bulb in the back of the vehicle.

Note - Sometimes this situation causes the blinker module on the fuse panel to permanently change to a rapid or even a non-blinking state. In this case you must also replace the blinker device itself, which is on the fuse panel and looks like a small cylinder (or cube) less than one inch in diameter.

Tail lights not working

ck fuse for rear taillights tis under the dash lower left of steering wheel. or if you still have the manual look in there under fuses.
also look for a bad ground but i doubt that.. if it's both rear out.
fast flashing well here's a chart with all sorts of info.
Problem What To Do Turn signals light, but do not flash Replace the flasher No turn signals light on either side Check the fuse. Replace if defective.
Check the flasher by substitution.
Check for open circuit, short circuit or poor ground. Both turn signals on one side don't work Check for bad bulbs.
Check for bad ground In both housings. One turn signal light on one side doesn't work Check and/or replace bulb.
Check for corrosion in socket. Clean contacts.
Check for poor ground at socket. Turn signal flashes too fast or too slow Check any bulb on the side flashing too fast. A heavy-duty bulb is probably installed In place of a regular bulb
Check the bulb flashing too slow. A standard bulb was probably installed in place of a heavy-duty bulb
Check for loose connections or corrosion at the bulb socket Indicator lights don't work in either direction Check If the turn signals are working
Check the dash indicator lights
Check the flasher by substitution One Indicator light doesn't light On systems with 1 dash indicator:
- See if the lights work on the same side. Often the filaments have been reversed In systems combining stoplights with taillights and turn signals
- Check the flasher by substitution On systems with 2 Indicators:
- Check the bulbs on the same side
- Check the indicator light bulb
- Check the flasher by substitution
hope this helps. may want to print for future reference. :)
hope this helps.

Neither blinker works when i try to use them... the hazard and break lights work and the bulbs are all good... i replaced the fuse but the turn signals still dont work

Go to the auto store and ask them for a turn signal relay, they can point you in the right direction on where it might be located... Though it is usually located inside of the dash.

My driver side blinker doesn't work Yet both bulbs in the fixture light up when you turn the lights on. I dont have a book on the car to match fuses with numbers so I was hoping for some help so that I...

The turn signal bulb is bad --- it is a double filament bulb-- meaning one filament for turn signal and one for the parking light -- replace that bulb and that should fix it. Another clue to a bad bulb in the system is that it will make the good bulb blink faster one that is .

Blinkers wont turn on its not the bulbs or fuses 01 tahoe

Did you replace the hazard/flasher/blinker relays?- they are in the fuse block usually.

This is weird, but try this: Turn on your hazard lamps and turn your steering wheel all the way left and all the way right.
Then turn on your left blinker and hold the blinker on while you turn all the way left, then right. It will click and try to turn it off but keep it held down and turned on. Then do the right blinker the same way.
I have had this problem with every GM I've ever had, something about the detent-return and the blinker relays getting reset. I'm not sure why it works, but if your flasher relays are good and your fuses, bulbs and wires are good then this is probably what will fix ya. I've had this happen often enough that I always do this first. My GM vehicles were/are all 60s to 90s models- old school, but try this before you do anything else with it it's free and only takes about 15 seconds to do. Sometimes I have to do it more than once, but eventually the detents reset and they work. Viola!
Good luck and please rate this solution if it fixes ya!

Right read blinker/break light dont work, turn signal blinks rapidly

It's the bulb. There are two filliments in the bulb. One is for when you turn your lights on and the other is for breaking and blinker flashing. When the break filliment goes bad it causes the blinker to flash very rapidly. 100% the bulb. Change it and all will be good again. P.S. if it were a fuse none of the break lights or blinkers would work.
