Acura TL CD player does not work. Whenever I press the CD butteon it shuts down the stereo. Does anyone have a solution

    I recently changed my battery in My 2005 acura TL and now the 6 disc changer wont work. It says it needs a code enetered? where can i get this code??

This happened to my 04 tl. it would stay on for the radio but once i hit the cd it would completely shut down until i turn the car off. i had to take it back to the dealership and they had to have it replaced. if you got the car not too long ago you should take it back since they shouldnt be selling you a car with parts that will fail so soon or if you have a warranty then it should be all good.

Not that simple unfortunately. have same dilemma with my 04 TL, cd player not working, tried to unplug the battery still no help. crutchfield said if you have with navigation the factory cd player is all integrated, cd player with the navigation and speakers so the whole system will have to be changed. one option was to keep everything as is and get a ipod interface that will work with your existing factory cd controls. if anyone can figure a better way please let me know too.

Your CD player is in some sort of error condition. Sure fix is replace the CD/Receiver unit with an aftermarket piece.

You might want to try removing power to the unit (just disconnect the battery for 10 min), BUT write down the security code for the radio first.

Try this: If you have jumped or replaced the battery at anytime this will happen. You have to get the serial number off the radio by removing it or partially taking it out to see the numbers on it try not to remove any cords. With the stereo out (to make sure you get the right number off of it) call an Acura dealership with the number and they will give you the another number to enter into the stereo and directions on how to punch the numbers in. Make sure while you have the stereo out you write the serial number down and keep it in a safe place also the number that the Acura dealership gives you because if you sell the car or if it happens again its easily accessible. 98 acura tl radio works but cd player has a cdpe-0 code
Most of the time that code is related to either a burned music cd being used. Its not every burned cd that causes it ,but there are some brands of cd's that are actually physically thicker than than a normal cd or some writables.belaeve it ir not this causes the cd to beunreadable by acura radio.once error code is set radio needs reset(pull battery cable for 30sec or so,reconnect)you will need anti theft radio code to re-enter into radio so be sure you have it,if not you would s/n off radio and any acura dealer con use s/n to retrive radio code from honda.note:if same cd is used again stereo you'll be back to square one again.GoodLuck

CD Player in Acura TL 3.2 2003
It's not that hard to fix it yourself.

for your 2003 TL
1. first remove the CD player (this is the hard part).
2. with the CD player removed, unscrew the top cover (4 or 5 screws) on the CD player.
3. with the top cover removed you can see the stuck CD.
4. all you have to do now is just push the CD out and reinstall

should be the same for your 04 TL but im not sure
