Tip for beginners
The 4 litre oil bottle is way too much oil for an engine to handle.
If you have a full 4 litre oil plastic bottle square shape . hold the bottle on its side to pour the oil out slowly and smoothly.
If you have new oil and know for sure that there is sufficient oil in the sump this is not a new problem as new oil has little refelective quality and is almost impossible to see on the metal dip stick as compared to oil that has done some work. Assuming that you are looking at the right dip stick and not the tranny one. I find that by drying off the metal and painting it with white paint ( oil Resistant ) past the full mark will help. Other than that run you finger down the stick until you feel the oil
look on dip stick you should see cross hatched area with add oil or oil full mark.if you wipe oil dip stick with a clean paper towel and dip stick look dry no sign of oil add little oil at a time see if oil level reach add oil mark or the full mark.if oil is low. low oil light will turn on if bulb is blowed but if dip stick look dry oil level could be low,add little bit at a time dont over fill.
hi there
your oil light comes on for one of two reasons either it is low on oil or your vehicle is ready for an oil change you can check the oil level by pulling the oil dip stick when vehicle is not running there will be a fill line on the dip stick the oil level should be at full if it is not add oil if it is full it is ready for a oil change most likely it is just low on oil hope i have answered your question and have a wonderful day thanks for using fix ya
your corolla takes 3.5 quarts of oil i would recamend only putting 3.0 quarts in starting it wait for the oil pressure light to go off then check the depstick and fill to full that is how we do it at the oil change shop
LOOK UNDER THE HOOD LOOK ON FRONT VALVE COVER THATS WHERE OIL FILL CAP LOCATED.YOU HAVE A OIL LEVEL DIP STICK BELOW THE FRONT VALVE COVER.LOOK ON THE OIL LEVEL DIP STICK WHEN ADDING OIL DONT OVER FILL THE FULL MARK LINE ON OIL DIP STICK THAT WHERE YOUR OIL LEVEL SHOULD BE DONT GO PASS THE FULL MARK.
