Try using the second key if you have one. Does the key not working look like it is bent? The ignition cylinder may just be worn to the point that it needs to be replaced.
I have answered this one a lot. it isn't terribly difficult to solve. There are 2 ways to go about this.
1. It is most often found in the original owner's manual where there will be a 4-5 digit code. 2. you can call the dealership and ask them they will want your VIN# and may even want you to verify that you are the owner of the vehicle.
Calling the dealership is your best bet, while your owners manual should have the procedure for resetting the radio the dealership can give you the procedure.
Gave up looking and bought the books from the Mercedes Main Dealer yesterday!! Owners' Book (hardback) not sure it's the right one £22.62 plus 17.5% VAT and ServiceBook £3.29 plus 17.5% VAT, Total about £30.45. Problem solved Thank you.
